게슈탈트 미술치료가 학교부적응 청소년의 자기 존중감과 사회성에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Gestalt Art Therapy on Self-Esteem and Sociability of Adolescents with Behavior Problems)

초록

본 연구는 게슈탈트 미술치료가 학교 부적응 청소년들의 자기 존중감과 사회성에 미치는 효과를 검증하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 학교 내 학생부의 협조에 의해 무단결석과 상습적인 지각 및 조퇴, 수업 이탈 등으로 특별 관리되고 있는 20명의 부적응 학생(실업계 여자고등학교)을 선정하고, 이들을 실험집단과 통제집단에 각각 10명씩 무선배치하였다. 선행연구에 기초하여 8회기의 게슈탈트 미술치료 프로그램을 재구성한 후 실험집단을 대상으로 매주 수요일 방과 후 시간을 활용하여 매회 50분에서 80분 동안 프로그램을 처치하였다. 그 결과 게슈탈트 미술치료는 부적응 청소년들의 자기존중감과 사회성 모두에 의미있는 효과가 있으며, 이러한 결과는 선행연구 결과를 확장시켜 주었다. 선행연구 결과와 비교할 때, 게슈탈트 미술치료가 일반 집단미술치료보다 더 강력한 효과가 있으며, 따라서 일탈 청소년들의 행동변화를 위한 유용한 도구가 될 수 있음을 확인할 수 있었다.

영어초록

This study was conducted to investigate the effect of Gestalt Art Therapy on self-esteem and sociability of high school students with behavior problems. For this study, 20 students with behavior problems at a technical high school were chosen (10 students as experimental and 10 as control group). The program of this study was the program ‘A Study of Art therapy for students with behavior problems; Centered on Gestalt art therapy’ developed by Yun Jin-Hee(2003) after modification. This program was applied to the subjects after regular classes on every Wednesday, for 50 minutes each unit. The tools used for the measurements of the result of the program were the test of self-esteem and the test of sociability. The test of sociability was the subsequent part of sociability from the new test of personality and emotion developed by Lee Jong Seung(1999). For the test of the self-esteem, this study used the self-esteem test developed by Yun YongJoon (1987), Rosenberg(1979) and Coopersmith(1981) and modified after the verification of reliability. The pre-test and post-test were conducted to the both groups before and after introducing the Gestalt Art therapy to the experimental group. T-test was applied to analyze the difference between groups after acquiring the value of mean and SD. SPSS10.0 was used for the statistical analysis of this study. The findings of this study are as follows. First, the study showed a significant difference between groups in the improvement in the total self-esteem and the subsequent part of individual, family of self-esteem. Second, the study showed a significant difference between groups in the improvement in the sociability. The experimental group showed a significant improvement compared to the control group. In conclusion, this study shows that the Gestalt Art therapy is effective in enhancing self-esteem and sociability of the technical high school students with behavior problems.
