초록

The purpose of this study is to inquire if the employment promotion project for elderly can enhance their self esteem, self efficacy. This study has theoretical research on key concepts such as employment promotion project for elderly, self esteem and self efficacy, job commitment, social support. For the empirical research, it collected data by surveying 320 olders participating in programs served by community service centers, senior service centers, senior clubs, senior schools in Busan by the purposive sampling. The subjects are divided into two groups. One group consists of 220, who have participated in employment promotion project for elderly. The other group is composed of 100, who have not participated in the program. The results shows as followings; First, the elders who have participated in the employment promotion project for elderly get higher self esteem and self efficacy than non-participants. Second, the multiple regression analysis was conducted about the effects of various feature factors related to employment promotion project for elderly on their self esteem and self efficacy of its participants. The result shows that education background, gender, spouses, willingness to participate, motivation for social participation, cognition of economical support, job commitment, social support are significant factors of the effect. Therefore, this study suggests that the employment promotion project for elderly should improve job commitment education training and secure social support system in order to enhance the psychological welfare of the elderly practically.
