초록

본 연구는 교육 사회학의 학문적 연구동향과 발전추세에 상응하는『교육공학의 사회학』의 학문적 범주규명과 발전 가능성을 논의하면서 교육공학에 대한 사회학적 탐색을 시도한다.『교육공학의 사회학』의 문제의식, 문제제기 형식, 문제제기에 응답하기 위해 동원되는 방법론과 절차가 다를 것이라는 전제하에 이를 시범적으로 적용해본 대표적인 교육공학적 연구노력을 분석해볼 것이다. 궁극적으로 본 연구는 교육공학적 처방전이 지향하는 속도와 효율이 훑고 지나간 상혼(傷魂)과 궤적(軌跡)을 사회학적 시각과 관점으로 재조명하여『교육공학의 사회학』의 범주와 탐구논리를 확대하기 위한 그 기반으로써『성찰적 교육공학』을 정립하는데 있다. 사회학적 관점과 접근방법으로 무장한『성찰적 교육공학』은 교육공학적 실천 자체의 효율성과 효과성을 달성하기 위한 학문적 이론화 및 실천적 적용노력의 범주와 수준을 넘어서서 교육공학적 연구노력을 통해서 생산된 산물의 사회적 속성분석은 물론 교육공학적 연구노력의 결과 개발된 산물이 실천현장을 매개로 적용되는 과정에 대한 사회학적 분석을 중시한다.『성찰적 교육공학』을 통해서 그 동안 전통 교육공학 또는 표준 교육공학적 접근이 간과해온 구체적 교육현실 또는 교육공학적 연구대상의 일상성이 담고 있는 사회적 의미망을 분석하고 그것이 전체 교육공학적 실천노력에 어떤 의미와 시사점을 제공해줄 수 있는지를 밝혀보려고 한다. 이러한『성찰적 교육공학』을 정립하기 위해서 교육사회학의 주요 이론적 입장과 역사적 변천과정을 통해서 등장한 교육사회학 패러다임에 상응하는『교육공학의 사회학』을 상정시킨다. 각각의 교육공학의 사회학적 입장별로 관련 연구성과를 사회학적 관점으로 재조명해보는 작업을 한다. 마지막으로『교육공학의 사회학』의 학문적 지향성과 성찰적 교육공학자의 사명을 논의하는 것으로 결론을 대신한다.

영어초록

In this study, sociological exploration to the field of educational technology is made to identifyresearch fields in『sociology of educational technology』and to scrutinize into interdisciplinarity between educational technology and sociology of education while major trends and issues of sociology of education is being reviewed. Critical analysis to the representative research efforts in the field of sociology of educational technology is conducted under the unique presuposition of the ways of questioning, posing, and solving problems, which will be different from the other disciplines. The final goal of this study is to establish 『Reflective Educational Technology』that is essential for taking a critical look at the negative effects and historical traces resulting from speed and efficiency of educational technology from the lens of sociological perspectives.『Reflective Educational Technology』puts the emphasis on the sociological analysis into efforts to implement research findings that educational technology has made as well as efforts to make theoretical scrutiny and practical application on how to increase efficiency and effectiveness of educational technology. The hidden meaning embedded in the practices of educational technology and some implications of 『Reflective Educational Technology』for ordinary life in which educational technology is applied to are explored to identify the limitations of and problems with traditional educational technology. In order to build 『Reflective Educational Technology』within the field of educational technology, major theoretical propositions and paradigms of sociology of education are reviewed, leading to establishment of『sociology of educational technology』that is correspondent with sociology of education. Final conclusions on what missions and research tasks should reflective educational technologists conduct are made for further research and recommendations.Key words: Educational Technology Sociology, Sociology of Educational Technology, New Sociology of Educational Technology, Sociological Educational Technology, Reflective Educational Technology
