R E P O R T- Korean Folk Village -과목:교수명:학과:학번:성명:Korean Folk VillageThe Korean Folk Village offers one of the finest ways to learn about Korea's people, history, culture, and customs. In Korean Folk Village, the traditional exist side by side in harmony. When I was visiting Korean Folk Village last day, although it took quite a long time(about 2 hours) to get there and the weather was rainy, I was struck by its beauty. The Korean Folk Village opened its doors Oct. 3rd 1974. It is an open-air folk museum, designed much like a traditional Korean country town, and houses many features of Korean culture that have been carefully collected and preserved. It offers a variety of attractions based on a wide range of culture-related themes, the largest groupings of which are "Traditional Houses,' "Education & Administration," 'Livelihood & Handicrafts," "Religion & Ceremonies," and "Festivals & Entertainment.' Each of these attractions features a wealth of exhibits complemented by explanations oical context in which they were developed. The plethora of building styles in the village are representative of the different regions of Korea and their lifestyles. There are thatched-roof farmers' homes, various kinds of shops, a provincial governor's estate, a jail, and a marketplace to name just a few. We may enter individual buildings as we walk through the village and witness different aspects of traditional Korean life. All who work in the village are attired in native costume and carry out their tasks much as they would have done hundreds of years ago. The different ways of life across the social classes are clearly evident in the size and structure of each home. Each of the regions of Korea had a characteristic style of housing based upon the local climate. Household items also differed slightly by region, illustrating differences in needs and lifestyle. All the items on display have been restored to provide visitors with a general view of early Korean life, how food was preparedhe clothing worn. The traditional marketplace features a number of restaurants where visitors can sample the exotic flavors of Korean cuisine as it varies from region to region. There are also traditional teas and wines available and guests dine in traditional style - seated on raised platforms at small tables. There are also many small shops offering souvenirs and other handmade items such as brassware, bamboo products, mats and silk fans. Other shops feature craftsmen such as blacksmiths, basket weavers, potters and painters, plying their trade using old-fashioned methods. Their wares are usually for sale, and some will even custom-make items on request.Workshops also serve to educate visitors about the tools and pottery used by early Koreans. Various handicrafts such as pottery, baskets, winnows, bamboo-ware, woodwork, paper, brassware, knots, fans, musical instruments, ironware, and embroidery are made using ancient methods and put on display. Every effort has been made in the Koreayles of past generations as faithfully as possible. Additionally, live entertainment in the form of various outdoor performances is scheduled periodically throughout the day. Lively music and colorful costumes characterize individual shows involving tightrope acrobatics and the celebrated Farmers's Dance. These, along with the many other attractions at the Korean Folk Village, offer visitors the opportunity to personally become acquainted with Korea and its people through an intimacy with their traditions and history. This is a must see for anyone interested in traditional Korean culture. In a rustic area surrounded by trees and streams the agrarian life of ancient Korea is depicted in a living, working village. It is difficult for me to imagine the hardships endured by those who had to live in this rugged, mountainous land without the use of modern technology. Every day a traditional harvest dance is re-enacted, the performers tossing the long plumes attached to their caps in complex colk Village did I realize what an amazing feat it was for this country to transform itself into a modern, global society in such a short period of time, while managing so much of its cultural heritage. We could have spent days there, but it was such at intense learning experience, that we were eventually exhausted, and by midafternoon we made our way back to the bus and headed to Seoul. Many travelers understand that the best way to truly enjoy and benefit from visiting a country is to learn something about its people, history, culture, and customs. There are few better ways to do this in Korea than pay a visit to the Korean Folk Village.Korean Folk Village is a wonderful place for travel. Many people forget they can learn Korean culture by simply opening your eyes wide. I could improve my English skills during this trip, Also I was able to experience more Korean culture and learn more English tour guide skills. Korean Folk Village has given me a fascinating insight into traditional Kor.
REPORT━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━Rear GardenThe beauty of the Changdeokgung has not yet been discovered and receives little attention. The Changdeokgung palace has its own unique beauty with influences of environmental artwork and architecture. In Seoul, the best-preserved window to Korea’s past is Changdeokgung, which was constructed as a royal villa in 1394 by King Taejong, the third king of the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910). This palace is the only palace retaining the original architectural design and infrastructure, although it was rebuilt after the Imjin Japanese invasion. The palace had retained its original beauty and left unscathed through past invasions, war and time, leading myself to believe that I have witnessed some form of divine intervention. The grounds measure 107 acres overall, including the Secret Garden, which holds 28 of the original 41 structures. The 13 buildings on the main palace grounds most notably including Injeongjeon, the main audience hall, which hamountains and water. Inside the Changdeokgung, little hills and creeks was composed the natural beauty and order. It is a land of wooded slopes and intertwining paths linking lotus ponds and pleasure pavilions. That is the most simplistic precious description of the Changdeokgung and its Rear Garden, Huwon. First of all I was intrigued by the Rear Garden. Before I reached the Donhwamun, I thought it must be a very romantic place. Yes, my imagination was right. As a matter of fact, it was a very romantic place. I fell in love with the Rear Garden in my first visit. I was so sure of myself on the significance of the palace from the environmental art perspective. It is more than a romantic place. It is a historical place. The pursuit of a proper and constant care of nature is not only due to aesthetic reasons, but also the harmonious man-nature relationship. The ancient Korean notion of geomancy taught me that man could not properly develop?intellectually, emotionally, or even business?withing. Of course, they have their own beauty and colors. But they are artificial, overwhelming, and suppressing the nature. The Changdeokgung has led me to the nature and the beauty of the nature. Who said that architecture could be an art and a civil-engineering work? At this palace, I can easily agree with that statement. It should be an environmental art, and delicate civil engineering work, particularly in the 21st century. I cannot exchange the Secret Garden with the Central Park in New York City.I hope people find and learn the man-nature relationship from their ancestor’s wisdom and arts at the Changdeokgung. Inside the palace, I become a part of the nature, and an environmental artist. I hope all people become the same. Koreans should learn the limit of nature. The population bomb is becoming explosive. Balanced growth of Seoul and the rest of the nation should be maintained. No growth policy is desirable or environmental growth of Seoul is imperative. The sooner they learn the l산수가 수려한 장소에 지어졌다.
