Disadvantages to Owners* Advance reservations are required to guarantee availability in case owner’s unit is rented.- Owner has to reserve his/her own room far in advance (i.e. 60 to 90 days at The Plaza Hotel in New York, depending on the season).* Owners should pay typical monthly maintenance fees.* Nondeductible taxes on the maintenance fees- Even though owners are allowed to deduct the mortgage interest on the principal residence and one vacation home, maintenance fees on a personal use property is nondeductible. Only the property taxes on the timeshare, and the mortgage interest paid on the loan (depending on the type of ownership deed) is deductible. If the property was held as a rental property, the maintenance fees would be deductible as an expense against the rental income.* The restrictions on the amount of time owners can use their room- It varies from city, state and country.* No choice for interior design- The hotel management furnishes all rooms the same.* Limited kitchen space- As with most hotel rooms, the owner get not a kitchen but a kitchenette with a mini-fridge and a microwave.* If the hotel has a high vacancy rate, owners will still have to help pay the salaries of a lot of idle porters and maids.* The Securities and Exchange Commission bars developers from marketing condo-hotels to buyers as investments.- As a result, the developer can't give out projected occupancy or room rates to potential buyers. It can be difficult for buyers to estimate rental income from the property.* Numbers of condo hotels are increasing, but not many of them are convenient to business travel destinations.* The unit may loss value over time.* Financing is usually slightly costlier than for a primary residence.- Lenders view condo hotels as a greater risk.* Income from guests staying owner’s unit may be cut when travel declines.* Owners may wish to buy insurance to protect against liability claims and some types of damage or loss.* Annual cash flow could be equal to or less than annual ownership costs.* Pets are usually not welcome.* The condo hotel unit is subject to the same dips in the market that affect all hotels in the competitive market set: hurricanes, terrorist threats, warm winters up north, price of gas, etc., all of which can affect a unit's occupancy rate and the amount of revenue it generates.Works CitedGreen, Joel. “Thinking of Buying a Condo Hotel?” EzineArticles.com. 2007. 06 November 2007. .Knox, Noelle. “Condo-hotels Create Risks, Opportunities for Buyers.” USA Today. 21 September 2006. .Lancaster Philippine Condo Hotel. ENG1001Wendy Wagner04/26/06A Rose for EmilyThe story takes place in a town called Jefferson. It begins by telling us that the main character “Miss Emily Grierson” has died, and everyone in the town attends her funeral. The story then goes back to tell Miss Emily’s life story, in which she does many things that most people would consider to be crazy. Then, the narrator leads us gradually to the surprise ending by giving scrappy information about Emily and her life. Finally, townspeople found a corpse lying in the bed in a rotting nightshirt. I was very shocked by this! I was especially astonished when they noticed the indentation of a head and a long gray hair. I immediately though she was a person because I presumed she had been sleeping with the body. Emily poisoned Homer because she didn’t want to be to be lonely when she though he was going to abandon her. By going back chronologically, readers can understand who Emily is basically and why Emily comes to poison her lover. Emily told people her father wasn’t dead because she could not deal with the fact he was gone. The same idea goes for her murdering Homer because she didn’t want him to leave her, and in the end she doesn’t let him go.

ESL 04410/02/03My Frightening DreamAfter watching the movie 'Titanic', I dreamed that I was in the Titanic which had been in a state of confusion. "It's unsinkable!" That was the proud boast made by the builders of the Titanic, the magnificent ocean liner that on April 14, 1912, went down during its maiden voyage. Most of the 2,100 passengers were sent to their deaths. A violent storm threatened to plunge the vessel and all its passengers to the bottom of the sea. At that time, on the evening of the disaster someone had led a young person to faith in the Savior. Soon Afterward, he said, "It is going to be beautiful in the morning." Then, I woke up and thought about my dream. I thought that for him and any other Christian who died that night, the next morning was beautiful. Theirs was sunrise on their first day in heaven. No matter how safe and serene our life may be, it can end in shipwreck at any moment; therefore, we have to be certain of our own relationship to Jesus.
