    Friends with money was popular because of the fact that Jennifer Aniston came out in the film. However the film didn’t get much attention from audiences, thus a few movie theaters released it. Besides, there were a little audience in the movie theater and it seemed that I was only young person of them who came to movie.This film came up with an anxiety and worry for future, such as money, friends, marriage, and job as same as me. In the film, Olivia(Jennifer Aniston) is the only single woman among her friends, and she has quit her job and then she has been maid. Such condition makes a gap among her friends who are in a good situation related with money. Even one dinner, their chat is not connected with her, so she feels nervous and uneasy. I really fear that I’m going to be in this situation which is discriminated follows whether I’m rich or not.However, the film finally follows the story of Cinderella in the end of the film that she met a man with huge money. Here is another old fashioned precept. The man of Olivia is little bit greasy and fatty, and even he is a jobless man. Nevertheless, she opens her mind to him and then, she sees he has had an inheritance of several hundred thousand dollars. The film says ‘Don’t judge a person based on his money.’This film is a story with a happy ending, but I can’t make sure my future. Now, almost my friends are similar with me for condition or wealth. Yet, all these things are changeable, so I fear that change even though I read ‘Who moved my cheese.’ I need to worry about job or marriage. Among the cases, the rate of a second offense is about eighty percent. Moreover, the statute of limitation for sexual violence is seven years in Korea. We couldn’t keep that weak policy anymore. The sex offender should be treated as a murderer.It’s easy to face a great deal of news on TV about sexual crimes by a father or common man who knows the victim. When the sex offenders are investigated the cause of the crimes, some excuse their crimes by saying that they were under the impulse. However that’s not a point whether they committed crimes on impulse or by intention. They committed a crime is merely certain. In addition to the sexual assault has a number of side effects. It’s nothing else than devastating victim’s whole life. Who could take the responsibility for victim’s whole life. It couldn’t be rebuilt. In the case of the sexual violence, the sex offenders gave up their human right. We have no choice but suggest a heavier punishment otherwise the sexual assault is necessarily going to increase more and more.Then, which punishment the judge gives the sex offender is appropriate? Recently, there is a suggestion that the electronic bracelet system-bracelets the sex offenders wear-should be adopted. Since, it’s not able to prevent in advance a following crime. Thus, two kinds of punishment would be adopted. First, providing who he is, where he lives, and what appearance he has to the public. In this case, it could affect family of the sex offender in their lives also. Second, the castration should be given a high priority. Why? That’ the fundamental resolution could nip in the bud.Perhaps some are against the castration bill for reason of double punishment. However, try to put yourself in victim’s shoes.     -An Introduction to English Poetry-Kitchenette Building 비평Gwendolyn Brooks의 Kitchenette Building은 간이부엌 빌딩, 즉 공동주택을 뜻한다. 이 시에서 제목의 역할은 화자가 처한 상황을 한마디로 느낄 수 있게 하는 것이다. 간이부엌이나 공동주택은 화자가 넉넉하지 못한 생활을 하는 것을 예상하게 하고 그 경제적 상황은 곧 심리적인 피폐함으로 이어질 수 있다. 시에 드러난 화자는 자신의 정체성과 전혀 다른 길을 가고 있어서 그 괴리에 괴로워한다. 이상적인 상황을 상상하기도 하지만 결국 뜻대로 살 수 없는 현실에 적응해 체념하는 모습을 보인다.1행의 things라는 표현은 사물, 생명이 없는 것, 즉 껍데기로서 살아가는 화자 자신을 말한다. 생명이 없으므로 생기 없고 활력 없는 화자의 시간은 dry hours에 부합한다. 왜 화자의 삶이 스스로를 thing이라 표현할 정도로 메말랐는지는 3행에서 드러난다. 꿈과 다른 현실에 대해 ‘아내를 먹여 살리는 것’을 예로 든 것으로 미루어보아 화자는 남자이다. 그러나 이에 뒤따르는 예인 ‘충족시키는 것’의 a man은 한명의 남자로 화자가 남성동성애자임을 시사한다. 겉으로는 부정 대명사로 ‘사람’이라는 뜻을 내보이고 그 안에 화자의 애인일 수 있는 한 남자를 정신적인 사랑으로 또는 성적으로 충족시키는 것에 대한 화자의 고민을 언급한 것이다. 스스로를 일컬어 involuntary plan의 산물이라 한 것 역시 자의적이지 않은 계획, 즉 현실의 일반적인 남녀관계를 따르는 사람을 말한다. 동성애자로서 남자를 사랑하지만 세상의 눈을 피해 가정을 꾸리고 살고 있으므로 사회가 요구하는, 자발적으로 택하지 않은 계획에 끼워 넣어진 희생양이라고 스스로 말한다. 화자에게 dream은 정체성을 찾아 사는 것이고 그와 상반되는 현실과의 괴리는 삐걱거리는 giddy sound를 만든다. 현실을 상징하는 것은 화자의 아내이고 한 남자는 이상을 상징한다.2연에서 화자는 정체성을 현실세계에 고백하는 것에 대한 고민을 내비친다. 현실을 뜻하는 onion fumes는 onion의 껍질을 까는 행위에 해석의 근거가 있다. 양파를 까는 순간에 흘리는 눈물은 슬픔이 원인이 아니어서 눈물의 속성에서 빗나간 거짓 눈물이므로 화자에겐 거짓의 세계인 현실을 상징한다. 꿈의 하얀색은 밀가루의 하얀 것, 마약으로 인한 타락이며 보라 빛은 선정성을 뜻하므로 동성애자인 화자의 부정적인 면을 말한다. fried potatoes는 생활하느라 기름에 찌든 화자의 부인이고 홀에서 썩어가는 어제의 쓰레기는 부인과 화자의 과거 행위의 산물인 아이들을 뜻한다. 화자는 이상의 어두운 면을 부인과 아이들(현실)에 드러내고 동성애자로서의 자아고백(sing an aria)을 할 수 있을까 하고 스스로 묻는다. 만약 정체성에 대한 고백을 했을 때는 어떠할 지 화자는 가정해본다. 기꺼이 고백을 한다 해도 열정적이고; warm it, 힘든 현실(차별 등)에서 동성애자로서의 자신을 유지하고; keep it clean, 정체성의 확신을 갖는 다면 꿈이 이루어질 것인지 고민한다.4연에서 화자는 큰 반전을 꾀한다. 2연과 3연을 통해 이상이 현실화되길 바라고 또 고민하는 모습을 보였지만 결국에는 숨기고 사는 현실에서 살 수밖에 없음을 드러낸다. 꿈이 이루어질지 상상해보고 고민했지만, 거짓되게 사는 현실에 그나마 위안이 되는 육체적 충족에 만족하고 사는 것이다. 욕실에서 나온 Number Five는 성별이 언급되어 있지 않지만 남성동성애자인 화자의 하룻밤 상대(역시 남자)가 사랑의 행위를 위해 샤워를 하고 나온 것으로 해석할 수 있다. lukewarm water 역시 뜨겁지도 차갑지도 않은 미지근함으로 이것도 저것도 아닌 화자의 삶이다. 마지막 행은 완전히 어느 한 쪽에 속한 삶을 살 수는 없지만 그렇게라도 살수 밖에 없다는 화자의 푸념이다.-An Introduction to English Poetry-Kitchenette Building -Gwendolyn Brooks- 비평영어영미문화전공200421534 오지선

Even though we see a spider in the evening, we don’t kill them but we should shake off the spiders.In summary, superstition that we believe in connects with spiritual belief. As we do or do not something, we have no doubt that our belief comes true. I guess it’s kind of placebo effect. In other words, belief is similar to desire because strong belief makes us do our best at every moment.
