Feeling this situation very pity , King Sejong made its own language with scholars. It is right away 'Hangul‘! Anecdotes : Often, Hangul is called scientific language. One of reasons is that is easy making modeling lattice. The second , while Hangul was being made, king Sejong watched person's mouth directly. He brought a prince and a princess, and saw their mouth shape after pronounced and made Hangul. Therefore, it is very easy language to learn. In this way, Hangul is demonstrated very scientific and exhem, but the Korean alphabet is made of phonetic(sounding) letters just like English. Anyone can learn Hangul in a day , that is why it is called 'morning letter' . It is easy to learn because it can be put together with 10 vowels and 14 consonants. Hangul has 8,000 different kinds of sound and it is possible to write each sound. Because Japanese letters imitate Chinese characters, they can’t be used without Chinese characters. The Chinese government secretly sent scholars to the United States to alphabetize its language. Chinese is too difficult to learn, therefore the illiteracy rate is very high. Chinese thought it would weaken national competitive power. Hangul has an independent reading and writing system. It can be used on its own. The American literacy rate is only 79%.Why is Hangeul easy to learn? Vowels Hangeul(the Korean alphabet) consists of forty letters. Twenty-one of these represent vowels (including thirteen diphthongs), and nineteen represent consonants. Twenty-four are Hangul perfectly extremely soon!) Hangul is an alphabet, just like the Roman alphabet English speakers use. The only two differences are Hangul blocks syllables, and there are no lowercase or capitalize letters in Hangul. The letter is always written the same, no matter when it is used. Characters will be stacked into squares to form each syllable. For example ㅎ , ㅏ , and ㄴ are three separate characters. But, as they would form one syllable, they would be written 한 instead of ㅎ ㅏ ㄴ . ㅎ + ㅏ + ㄴ = 한 want another example? ㄱ + ㅡ + ㄹ = 글 We then combine syllables to form words, just as we do in English. Why is Hangeul easy to learn? ※ When we write individual letters in a syllabic unit for actual writing, there are five cases. As illustrated in the following diagram, the individual letters are arranged and proportioned to fit neatly into a square box, and are always read from left to right, then top to bottom. 한 + 글 = 한글 ㅇ + ㅛ + ㅇ = 용 ㅊ + ㅓ + ㄹ = 철 용철 ----- YongChul who is awesome. The exshape of vocal organ of human. However, if you visit Korea for the first time you might think it's a bit complicated to use them. After your arrival at In Cheon Airport, you need to use the public transportations to move to a hotel or any place to stay. If you want to go to other city, you need to transfer to another airplane, or go to Express Bus Terminal, or a train station. After coming to the city, you can use subway, bus or taxi that will take you to the city within one hourUsing KTX, a high-speed train with speed up to 300KM, you can go to Busan from Seoul in two and half hours. ○ Public Transportation In Seoul, there are four lines of buses; blue, green, yellow, and red. The color of each line means characteristic of the route, so it is easy to figure out which one to take. In every big city in Korea, there are subways used for mass transportation that connects to everywhere in the city like a spider web. There are two kind of taxis; high-quality and ordinary taxi. Taxi is used when you want to go to places you are not familiar with in short time. Foreigners can use the free translating service by phone that can be found on the window of taxis.○ Public Transportation Traffic Card lets you use more bus and subway services conveniently with less money. The card or the accessory is to be close the machine which is the picture above when you get on a bus or enter a subway station.○ Shop opening time Korea is one of safer countries. Almost all of them are also opened 24 hours.○ Shop opening time A lot of department stores are located in big cities. They open from 10A.M to 10P.M○ Money paying restaurant bills Almost all restaurants can accept any card, but you should ask an owner if a restaurant looks old, you are in rural community, or the owner is an elderly. It is common to pay in front of entrance door after meals. You will get your receipt after you paid.○ Tipping in restaurants In K orea, You don’t need to leave tip because Korea doesn’t exist Tip Culture, so you enjoy your meal in any restaurant, and then you can just pay what you had without tip. Don’t worry about their service, you will be surprised by their service.○ Dealing with emergencies Remember 119 that numbers are the same function 911 in Korea. If you are on emergency, you could call 119 to ask them helping you. Don’t worry whether you can’t speak Korean, there is a person who can speak your mother’s language. When you got lost on the street, ask a person who look like a student because all Korean students can speak English, but they don’t speak fluently. However, they can understand what you want to do if you speak with easy words.○ The other rules in Korea you should know I have heard about Korea called an eastern nation of etiquette or a polite eastern nation for a long time. Children may leave to protect themselves or because they are no longer wanted in the home. Ban on the hunting of whales By YongChulGeneral information Counties which allow to hunt whales Importance about being ex tinct whales How we can save whales Watch video Contents○ General information Whales belong to the order cetacea , which includes whales, dolphins and porpoises. Whales are divided into two suborders: baleen and toothed whales. Baleen whales have a comb-like fringe, called a baleen, on the upper jaw, which is used to filter plankton, as well as small fish and crustaceans. They are the largest species of whale. Toothed whales have teeth and prey on fish, squid, other whales and marine mammals. They sense their surrounding environment through echolocation. Like all mammals, whales breathe air into lungs, are warm-blooded, feed their young milk and have some (although very little) hair. Their bodies resemble the streamlined form of a fish, while the forelimbs or flippers are paddle-shaped. The tail fins, or flukes, enable whales to propel themselves through the water. Most species of whale have a fin on their backs known as a dorsal fin. http://www.defenders.org○ General information Diet The diet of whales depends on their species; it can range from microscopic plankton to large marine mammals. Population Varies with each species. Range Whales live in all of the world's oceans, though their specific range varies by species. Reproduction Mating season: Varies depending on the species. (1~2years) Gestation: 9-17 months, depending on the species. Number of offspring: 1 calf. Nursing time is long (more than one year for many species), which is associated with a strong bond between mother and young. This strategy of reproduction spawns few offspring, but provides each with a high probability of survival in the wild.○ Counties which allow to hunt whales The main whaling nations - Norway, Iceland and Japan - argue that hunting some species is now sustainable. The current international agreement permits some whales to be killed for scientific research and isolated arctic communities are allowed to catch a small number of whales for their subsistence needs. Japan, Norway, and Iceland have legal whaling. In addition, there are also some Alaskan Natives who engage in whaling.○ Importance about being extinct whales Whales killed annually since Norway resumed commercial whaling From http://www.whales.org.au/ Norway has authorised its whalers to harpoon 885 minke whales in 2009, a quota sharply down from previous years in what animal rights activists saw as a sign of consumers' growing disinterest for whale meat. According to Greenpeace, the whalers' difficulties in filling the quota illustrates the lack of interest for whale meat. The Scandinavian nation is the only country in the world that allows whaling for commercial purposes. It argues the hunt is needed to stop the whale population from growing so large that it devours huge stocks of fish. They say the killing may increase three-fold, but blubber is often dumped because of limited export markets.○ Importance about being extinct whales Annual whale harvest from 2001-2006 ; data from Science , background image courtesy of R.
