In the U.S., there is a party culture that marks the beginning of puberty called 'Sweet Sixteen' like Korean Adult Day. Americans are 16 years old and in the middle of their teens and throw parties to celebrate it. The difference is that unlike Korea, people in the U.S. often spend the day as a celebration of their duties and rights as adults.
