I conducted Monte Carlo risk analysis, an essential tool for evaluating investment risks in new businesses. The relevant concepts of Technical Systems and Risk Analysis enriched my understanding of crucial risk management components, such as revenue structures and market dynamics. My interest in the specific field of risk management g domestic and international firms not only align with my internship experience but also extend beyond my experience in the mere transaction process.Furthermore, Professor Taewoo Roh’s paper, ‘M&A Successes: Breadth, Depth, and Deal Completion Time in the US Semiconductor Industry (2021),’ significantly influenced my understanding of the role of experience in the M&A process. The research undermines previous findings by claiming the necessity of intra-industry and inter-industry experiences in reducing deal completion time, regardless of the subsequent deal types. This unprecedented insight accommodating the rapidly changing industries and their expansive knowledge resonates with my interest in efficient decision-making related to potential risks during the M&A process on a global scale.Hence, I am confident that majoring in International Studies will consolidate my capacity to apply theoretical knowledge in practical international business contexts. I aspire to take courses offered byose to investigate the psychological dynamics behind individuals’ decision-making under risk or uncertainty and the subsequent problems involved in international stakeholder interactions. The solution hinged on the application of the Bayesian hierarchical estimation and the cumulative prospect theory, successfully providing an intricate analysis by accommodating diverse perspectives regarding international economic issues. Hence, by studying advanced mathematical models of different financial markets covered by QRM courses, I aspire to hone my expertise in quantitative financial risk analysis.The underlying uncertainties within contexts of quantifiability and risk were explored in my academic years. This inspired me accommodating stakeholders’ diverse perspectives. Professor Jiseob Kim’s paper, ‘Risk–return relationship and individualism’ echoes this experience, emphasizing cultural influence on risk-return dynamics.Furthermore, I analyzed the organizational risks of global companies in ‘Organizational Behavior.’ I conducted a case analysis of multinational mining companies by assessing stock valuation and operational decisions on the company's profitability and global supply chains. I was able to apply the Markov chain model to predict industry trends using recent data on the S&P 500 index and DART system information. My trend analysis and predictive modeling skills were further fostered by evaluating various sales, stakeholders, stocks, and bond valuations.Moreover, my research experience in the team assessing South Korea's Hyukshin Schools equipped me with qualitative analytical skills, which is a prerequisite for QRM. The team employed interviews with diverse stakeholders--students, teachers, administrators, and parents--and coldamental price relationships in M&A activities through 'Principles of Financial Engineering.’ Applications of option pricing theory and the Put-Call parity theorem to analyze price differentials during M&A or the Brownian motion to compare share price and net asset value will also be explored. To address clients’ legal compliance and potential regulatory and litigation risks, I will enroll in ‘Law and Economics.’ Moreover, I will engage in the ‘Yonsei Forum of Risk Management’ to engage in applications of theoretical knowledge to real-life scenarios through seminars and group discussions that delve into the realms of financial engineering and programming.Career-wise, I aim to specialize in M&A risk management as a consultant, leveraging the qualitative skills acquired at my previous institution and the quantitative capabilities expected to be fostered as a QRM major.
