Recently, some researches showed that the annual number of Korean children who go abroad to study is about 35,000 and the total cost amounts to almost 15 trillion won. Since the Korean education system is the cramming system of education and only focuses on the entrance examination, it is difficult to learn English properly in Korea. Because of these reasons, many parents think that sending their children abroad is the best way for the future of their children. Then, are there only positive aspects in studying abroad in early age? The answer is ‘No’. There are many negative aspects in studying abroad in early age – the expensive cost, the mental problems and the bad environment

First of all, the cost of studying abroad is expensive. Korean parents usually send their children to America for studying. As you already know, prices in America are high. Although a school fee is different from school to school in America, the annual education cost including text books and general school expenses usually ranges from $5,000 to $12,000. As well as the education cost, the living expenses are also expensive. The living expenses involve the food expenses, the housing expenses and the traffic expenses. The monthly living expenses usually range from $1,000 to $2,000. It means that the parents should pay annual 20 million ~ 30 million won, half of the average annual salary, for their children.

In addition to being expensive, Korean children can go through the mental problems. At first, they would get stress about using English.
