When we consider about the auteur, we can figure out them with their specified techniques, unique styles, and underlying themes which are all interrelated to one another for making and conveying a perfect message for their audience. I am going to observe one of contemporary famous Korean directors, Park Chan Wook. In fact, he is considered as auteur with his recurrent theme and special techniques. Of course, even though his movies are not related to Korean culture very much, I think I can understand more clearly than others who are not familiar with Korean backgrounds. From now, I will demonstrate his movies with regard to characteristics of auteur through looking his recent movies which are all connected to one recurrent theme, the revenge.

As the technologies developed, in this age, we are now having a lot of communication mediums which can convey or mediate the message basically, from sender to receiver. I think the movies are getting higher status of an effective communication medium because of some special reasons. First, it has unique expressing features such as perfectly can be controlled images and sounds which can affect the audience much in various ways, sometimes almost like the reality. Second, we usually consider the movie as one of the common mediums for the people who are living in the contemporary society since it is very easy to approach. So, I believe we can get many meaningful messages from the sender (directors), especially from the directors who are considered as auteur. In fact, we can find out the auteur easily among many directors because they have specified characteristics which I illustrated through this paper. I believe, in general, the auteur is a successful filmmaker since they are considered that they described their themes effectively through their movies and they also made the people to gather to see their movies. It means that they usually can get the success in artistic and commercial part at the same time.
Therefore, it is meaningful to show our respects for them and we need to watch their movies with the best attentions.....(하략)
