The Consequences of Building a Casino in a Community

As you walk into a casino, the colorful lights flashes across the room, and the sound of slot machines going off from every corner; your heart begins to beat faster with anticipation that one of these slot machines or tables could bring riches and a fantasy, you have longed for, to life. Although many people are attracted by the surrounding attractions and the façade of becoming wealthy, many do not see the problems that are being white-washed. Proponents aver that the construction and development of a casino will bring many benefits to the local economy. In my opinion, casinos will bring short-term advantages, but the long-term consequences could be problematic, so the construction of a casino should be prohibited.

Developing a casino in a community could result in people developing a gambling problem which can be detrimental to themselves as well as their families.
