I. Introduction
1. Company targeted The targeted company to analyze and evaluate on the SCM is Samsung Electronics: the handset, consumer electronics and semiconductor maker in South Korea. According to the annual report in 2012, Samsung Electronics briefly has a global network for business: Regional Headquarter 14, Production Network 37 and Sales Office, or subsidiaries, 51. And, they have two main businesses: finished goods, such as mobile phone, and component, for example memory, SD card. In order to explore, or study, on the Samsung SCM, this report is going to focus on the finished goods, not the component product. And, there are two reasons for the company selection. Firstly, Samsung Electronics in aspect of the SCM operation ranked No.1 in Asia Pacific in 2012 from the Gartner, information technology research and advisory company. And, according to the same search company, the Samsung ranked No.8 based on the worldwide in 2013; actually, the rank is expected to grow gradually. In the same sense, Samsung Electronics has all elements in terms of SCM analysis. Namely
