In a world of today where technology plays an important role, many are hooked with the products brought about by this trend. Who wouldn’t have cell phone? Even those who work as garbage collector have it. Well, I’m not belittling their capacity. I’m just stating a fact that PDAs (Personal Digital Assistance) such as cell phones, ipods, ipads, psps, etc. are really everywhere. Imagine our life before we haven’t had this kind of technology. How was our communication? Now, compare it with our generation today, how has it changed? These are some of the few questions we are going to discuss in this essay as we answer the main topic, that is, the widespread use of the products of this technology like modern gadgets in an American society specifically.
Modern gadget makes communication faster and easier. According to a Harris Interactive survey, Cell Phone Usage continues to increase in United States of America. In fact, one in seven adults uses cell phone. The use of cell phones among younger segments of the population has been widely reported, the technology is becoming increasingly popular among older populations as well. About half of U.S. adults who only use a cell phone are 30 or over. One-third of 18 to 29 year olds only use a cell phone or the Internet for making phone calls. Cell phones make communication faster and easier. We can call text anywhere and anytime we want.
