Ⅰ. Goals & Objectives
Using the previous learned knowledge, design the sensor board for a line tracer and implement it in hardware.
Ⅱ. Introduction to Sensor Board

Figure 1 shows the block diagram of the sensor board operation which is one of the most important part of a line tracer. Infrared sensors are used in detecting lines. The sensors are used in pairs of one infrared emitting sensor and one infrared detecting sensor. When the emitting sensor emits light, the light is either reflected or absorbed because of the color of line and floor, allowing for the detection of a line. Light that has been detected by the comparator is digitized, and is transmitted to the CPU through the connector. Whether to control the emitting sensor, whether to connect LED to the comparator so that which sensor had detected the line is an option for each group to decide.
