본문내용
1. Experiment SubjectIn casting process of Al-4.5wt%Cu alloy, To investigate how prescription processing time effect on material`s characteristics to measure Electrical conductivity, hardness, micro-organization, XRD data and analyze Al-4.5wt%Cu alloy. And compare casting & P/M by variables.
2. Experiment Purpose
To study most appropriate heat treatment time when aluminum and 4.5% copper is casted.
Al-4.5wt%Cu alloy shows corrosion resistance`s reduction, because copper contained in pure aluminum. Tensile strength increases with incresing Cu content, but elongation deceases. Al-4.5wt%Cu alloy have good mechanical properties, mechanical formability and casting property, but have a defect to produce a crack at high temperature.
To remove these defect, set up purpose of the experiment to investigate a best process to minimize High-temperature crack defect by experiment to set a best experiment temperature and proper time as a variable factors of the experiment.
3. Experiment Theory
3-1. Heat Treatable Aluminum Alloys
The term “heat treating” for aluminum alloys is frequently restricted to the specific operations employed to increase strength and hardness of the precipitation-hardening and cast alloys. These usually are referred to as the “heat-treatable” alloys to distinguish them from those alloys in which no significant strengthening can be achieved by heating and cooling. Heat treatment to increase strength of aluminum alloys is a three-step process:
