An 18-year-old Latino boy is standing trial for murder. He is accused of stabbing his father to death. Two people witnessed the boy killing his father, and his alibi does not sound convincing. He will certainly be sentenced to death if the jury brings in a verdict of guilty. The twelve jurors enter the room to make a decision, and the door is locked; this is how the story starts.
Twelve people in the room who have no connection with the boy now have control over his life. Considering witness statements, it seems that he in fact killed his father. The jurors are eager to finish this because they don`t want their time to be wasted. They made a quick vote and only one juror voted ‘not guilty`. Eleven other jurors ask him a question giving a frustrated look, "Do you really think he`s innocent?" and he answers. "I don`t know". The verdict has to be unanimous, so the other guys tried to convince him. One by one, they state why they think the boy is guilty. But the weird thing is, not all of them can quite explain why they believe he is guilty. Some of them just believe so. As time goes by, people who thought the boy is `definitely guilty` slowly get convinced by the other side. Also, they start to rationally think about their `reasonable doubts`.
