대학생의 정서적 문제와 자아탄력성 및 스마트폰의존의 구조적 관계 (Structural Relationship between Emotional Issues, Ego-Resilience, and Smartphone Dependence of University Students)

초록

본 연구는 대학생의 정서적 문제(주의집중, 공격성, 신체증상, 사회적 위축, 우울)와 자아탄력성이 스마트폰의존에 미치는 영향을 확인하고 대학생의 정서적 문제와 자아탄력성 및 스마트폰의존의 구조적 관계를 알아보는데 목적이 있다. 연구목적을 위해 한국청소년정책연구원 아동․청소년 패널조사 중1 코호트의 7차년도 1,863명을 대상으로 SPSS 25.0과 AMOS 25.0 프로그램을 이용하여 분석하였다.
대학생을 대상으로 본 연구가 설정한 변수들에 관한 구조적 관계를 분석한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 대학생의 정서적 문제(주의집중, 공격성, 신체증상, 사회적 위축, 우울)와 자아탄력성 및 스마트폰의존의 상관관계를 분석한 결과, 정서적 문제 전체와 스마트폰의존과는 모두 정적 상관관계가 있었으며, 자아탄력성과는 부적 상관관계가 있었다. 둘째, 본 연구에서 설정한 대학생의 정서적 문제, 자아탄력성 및 스마트폰의존 간의 구조적 관계모형에서는 사회적 위축과 우울이 자아탄력성과 스마트폰의존 간의 구조적 모형에서 경험적으로 부합한 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 사회적 위축이나 우울의 문제를 지닌 대학생을 대상으로 스마트폰의존을 낮추기 위해서 자아탄력성을 높여주어야 할 것이다. 대학생의 스마트폰 의존이나 중독을 예방하기 위해서 대학은 적극적으로 1학년 대학생의 대학생활을 개선하는 학교차원의 프로그램 개발이 필요하며, 자신의 삶을 스스로 통제할 수 있는 힘을 기를 수 있는 교육적 환경 조성이 필요하다. 대학생의 정서적 문제와 자아탄력성을 개인 스스로 해결하고 접근하도록 하기 보다는 학교차원에서 적극적 관심과 개입이 중요하다 할 수 있다.

영어초록

This study examines the effects of university students’ emotional problems(namely, attention, aggression, physical symptoms, social atrophy, and depression) and self-resilience on smartphone dependence, as well as the structural relation among university students’ emotional problems, self-resilience, and smartphone dependence. Data of 1,863 participants who were in 7th year of the first cohort of the Korea Youth Policy Institute’s 2016’s panel survey were analyzed using SPSS 25.0 and AMOS 25.0.
Analysis of the structural relations of the study variables set for university students yielded the following results. First, in terms of the correlation among the emotional problems, self-resilience, and smartphone dependence of university students, the results showed a positive correlation between all emotional problems and smartphone dependence. However, emotional problems had a negative correlation with self- resilience. Second, the structural relation model of the emotional problems, self-resilience, and smartphone dependence of university students demonstrated that social atrophy and depression were empirically consistent with the structural model between self-resilience and smartphone dependency. Therefore, increasing self-resilience in university students with social contraction or depression would lower their dependency on smartphones. In addition, the interest, understanding, and intimate relationships of those around them can be explained as factors that increase self-resilience, suggesting the importance of the interest of more mature individuals on the outcomes of first-year students. To prevent college students from heavily relying on or being addicted to smartphones, universities need to develop school-level programs that actively improve the college life of first-year college students and create an educational environment that empowers the students to control their own lives. Active attention and involvement are important at the school level; universities should not simply leave students to approach and solve their emotional problems and self- elasticity.
