· 연구 주제: 본 연구는 스마트폰 신문의 뉴스 이용 편리성, 뉴스 이용 의향성, 뉴스 레퍼토리, 뉴스 장르, 기사 스타일, 뉴스 내용, 뉴스의 소셜 미디어 활용 의향 등에 대한 수용자들의 인식을 탐색하는데 있다.
· 연구 배경: 스마트폰 이용자들이 인식하는 종이신문의 ‘뉴스 레퍼토리’에 어떤 특징과 경향성이 있는지에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있다. 이에 스마트폰에 적합한 신문 뉴스제작과 유통방식의 개선 방안에 대한 연구가 요청된다.
· 선행연구와의 차이점: 기존 연구들은 미디어의 기능적 대체제로서 스마트폰의 이용행태에 접근한 반면에 본 연구는 스마트폰 이용자의 뉴스 콘텐츠 이용 방식을 연구했다는 점에서 차별성을 갖는다. 구체적으로 본 연구는 신문 뉴스 소비자가 스마트폰 뉴스 콘텐츠를 얼마나 자주 이용하는지, 스마트폰 뉴스 콘텐츠를 이용할 의향은 있는지, 어떤 뉴스 콘텐츠에 흥미를 갖고 있는지, 선호하는 뉴스의 구성과 디자인, 그리고 기사형식과 뉴스내용은 무엇인지, 뉴스를 읽을 때 헤드라인과 리드만을 읽는지, 아니면 본문 전체를 읽는지, 전체 지면을 보여주는 것이 효과적인지, 아니면 요점중심으로 기사를 정리해 보여주는 것이 더 효과적인지, 스마트폰 이용정도에 따라 뉴스의 유형과 내용에 차이가 있는지, 사회경제적 수준에 따라 스마트폰 뉴스 콘텐츠 이용행태에 차이가 있는지, 그리고 뉴스 콘텐츠 접근성은 용이 한지를 중심으로 스마트폰 이용행태 전반에 대해 살펴보고자 한다는 점에서 선행 연구와 차이가 있다.
· 연구 방법: 스마트폰 이용자를 대상으로 뉴스 레퍼토리 개념을 적용해 ‘스마트폰 신문 뉴스’ 이용행태와 평가에 대한 서베이 조사를 수행했다.
· 연구 결과: 첫째, 가장 선호하는 스마트폰 콘텐츠 앱은 ‘뉴스 앱’으로 나타났다. 둘째, 가장 선호하는 뉴스 장르는 사건사고와 경제뉴스였다. 셋째, 스마트폰 단기이용자는 사건사고와 정치뉴스를, 장기이용자는 경제뉴스와 연예뉴스를 보다 선호했다. 넷째, 스마트폰 요금이 낮은 집단이 높은 집단에 비해 건강관련 정보를 더 선호했다. 이는 이용요금이 적은 나이든 세대일수록 건강문제에 더 관심을 갖는다는 사실을 보여준다. 다섯째, 나이가 젊은 세대일수록 연예/오락과 같은 연성뉴스를, 나이가 많은 세대일수록 정치/경제와 같은 경성뉴스를 더 선호했다. 여섯째, 기사 형식은 핵심적인 요약정보와 스트레이트 기사를 선호했다. 일곱 째, 뉴스 선택에서는 회사 브랜드보다 콘텐츠 내용을 보다 우선적으로 고려했다. 여덟째, 뉴스 형식은 활자와 사진 복합형을 순수 활자나 활자+사진+동영상 복합형 보다, 뉴스 내용은 정보중심을 지식정보나 오락정보 보다 더 선호했다.
· 공헌점 및 기대효과: 본 연구는 스마트폰 이용자들이 선호하는 최적의 뉴스 레퍼토리를 제시함으로써 뉴스의 묶음을 효과적으로 구성하고, 재배치할 필요성을 제안했다. 이러한 논의를 바탕으로 우리는 스마트폰이 전통 종이 신문의 한계를 극복해나갈 수 있는 단초를 제공할 것으로 기대한다.

· Subject of study: This study is to explore the perceptions of consumers about the convenience of using smartphone newspapers, their intention to use news, news repertoire, news genre, article style, and news content.
· Research Background: The characteristics and tendencies of the 'news repertoire' of newspapers perceived by smartphone users need to be reviewed. Accordingly, research on ways to improve newspaper news production and distribution methods suitable for smartphones is requested.
· Differences from previous studies: While previous studies approached the usage behavior of smartphones as a functional substitute for media, this study has a difference in that it studied the usage of news content by smartphone users. Specifically, this study examined how often newspaper news consumers use smartphone news contents, whether they are willing to use smartphone news contents, what types of news contents or design they are preferred, whether you read only the headlines and leads or the entire text when reading articles, whether it is effective to show the entire page. The above discussions is different from previous studies in that it examines whether there is a difference in the type and content of news and whether there is a difference in the usage behavior of smartphone news content according to socioeconomic level.
· Research Method: A survey was conducted on the usage behavior and evaluation of ‘smartphone newspaper news’ by applying the concept of a news repertoire to smartphone users.
· Research Results: 1) The most preferred smartphone content app was 'News App'. 2) The most preferred news genres were incidents and events, and economic news. 3) Short-term smartphone users preferred incidents and events, and political news, while long-term users preferred economic news and entertainment news. 4) The group with low smartphone rates preferred health-related information more than the group with high smartphone rates. This shows the fact that the older the generation whose the usage fee is low, the more interested in health problems. 5) The younger generation preferred soft news such as entertainments/sports, and the older generation preferred hard news such as politics/economics. 6) As for the article format, they preferred summary information and straight articles. 7) In news selection, contents was given priority over company brand and for news format, type and photo composite type was preferred to pure type or type + picture + video composite type, and for news content, information-centered type was more preferred than knowledge information or entertainment information.
· Contribution and expected effects: This study suggested the strategies to effectively organize and rearrange news bundles by presenting the optimal news repertoire preferred by smartphone users.
