제주 주거용 테쉬폰의 기술적 변용에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Technical Transformation of Jeju Residential Ctesiphon)

초록

본 연구에서는 1970년대에 성 이시돌 목장 내 개척농가로 지어진 ‘2중 외피 테쉬폰’의 실측 조사와 당시 건설에 참여하였던 박용근 이시돌 목장 사무장과의 인터뷰 조사를 통해‘2중 외피 테쉬폰’의 실체를 파악하였으며, 동광리에 위치한 1960년대 주거용 테쉬폰을 비교 조사를 통해 제주 주거용 테쉬폰의 변용과정을 규명하고자 하였다. 이처럼 ‘2중 외피 테쉬폰’의 물리적 특성은 외피의 성능 향상을 통해 이전 주거용 테쉬폰을 개량하고자 모색하였음을 알 수 있었다. 또한 증축부를 통해 ’2중 외피 테쉬폰‘의 한계 역시 추정할 수 있었다.

영어초록

The main purposes of this study are to grasp the reality of the 'double cladding Ctesiphon' through the survey of the 'double claddingCtesiphon' built as a pioneer farmhouse in the St. Isidore Ranch in the 1970s and the interview with the director of the St. Isidore RanchPark Yong-geun who participated in the construction at the time and to investigate the process of transforming Jeju residential Ctesiphonsthrough a comparative survey of 1960s residential Ctesiphons located in Donggwang-ri. As such, it can be seen that the physicalcharacteristics of the 'double cladding Ctesiphon' were sought to improve the previous Jeju residential Ctesiphon by improving theperformance of the sheath. In addition, it was also possible to estimate the limit of the 'double cladding Ctesiphon' through the extension.
Through the interview survey, 'double cladding Ctesiphon' was devised by Father Mcglinchey and was able to reveal the specific constructionprocess with the hollow layer by brick. In addition, it was found that even after the supply of a single cladding Ctesiphon in the early1960s, technology improvement was continuously sought based on its own technical skills in the St. Isidore Ranch to improve the habitabilityof leaks, condensation, and insulation. The testimony that the double cladding structure including outer and inner cladding was planned andconstructed in two stages by the St. Isidore ranch and the residents can also be evaluated in terms of acceptance of diversity. This studymay be meaningful in that it revealed the existence of the 'double cladding Ctesiphon' for the first time and examined the transformationprocess after the distribution of Ctesiphon
