정보활용역량’ 강화를 위한 글쓰기 수업－Allo 앱을 활용한 팀 프로젝트를 중심으로 (Writing Lessons to Strengthen ‘Information Utilization Competency’－Focused on a Team Project Using the Allo App)

초록

평균 수명 연장과 과학의 발달은 삶의 질뿐만 아니라 대학 교양 수업의 방향성 및 방법에서도 변혁과 전환을 요구한다. 이러한 시각에서 ‘문자언어’를 매체로 하는 ‘의사소통’인 대학 글쓰기 수업도 사회구조변화에 대응할 수 있도록 디지털 기반을 활용하여 ‘정보활용역량’을 성취하기 위한 설계로 전환될 필요가 있다.
본 연구는 신입생 대상의 글쓰기 과목에서 ‘Allo 앱을 활용한 팀 프로젝트’가 학습자의 정보활용역량 성취에 효과적이었음을 확인하는 것이다. “Allo 앱을 활용한 팀 프로젝트”의 수업목표는 선행된 개인 글쓰기 과정에서 발견된 ‘제한적 정보활용역량’을 향상시키는 것이었다. 다시 말해, Allo 앱에서 수행되는 팀 프로젝트 활동은 ‘문자언어’로 맥락화되었던 개인 글쓰기 결과물을 ‘음성’이나 ‘문자’ 등 다양한 매체를 활용하여 공유하고 비평하는 ‘정보의 재맥락화와 재생산 과정’이 된다. 먼저 Allo 앱에 내장된 다양한 도구를 활용하여 팀 산출물을 생산하기 위한 토론, 일지 작성 및 재맥락화에 필요한 팀 활동은 기초적이고 기능적인 정보활용역량을 강화하는 유용한 방법이었다. 동시에 생산 과정에서 강제된 ‘일지 작성, 회의’ 등은 팀원 개개인이 자신의 정보 활용을 타자화하고 수정하는 기회가 되었다. 특히, 이 과정은 자료수집과 자료 검증이라는 초보적 단계부터 논리로 (재)맥락화하는 종합적 사고 과정이기도 하다. 따라서 학습자는 팀 산출물 생산을 위해 각자 글을 공유함으로써 자료수집과 연결되는 도덕적인 자료 활용인 표절이나 자료의 객관성 등 기본적인 정보활용을 상호점검할 수 있었다. 또한 팀 산출물을 위해 내용 선별과 조율, 자료의 타당성 검증 및 다양한 매체를 활용한 논리적 맥락의 재구조화 과정은 정보활용역량을 효과적으로 구축하고 발휘하는 생산 과정이었다.
평생교육과 지식기반사회의 시민역량으로서 정보활용능력이 Allo 앱을 활용한 팀 프로젝트를 통해 성취될 수 있었다는 점에서 수업은 성공적이었다. 미래 사회의 대응 전략으로서 정보활용역량이 정보를 활용한 문제해결이라는 ‘생산성’에 그 의의가 놓인다는 것을 상기할 때 개인 글쓰기 결과물인 소논문 쓰기에서 주도적으로 ‘정보활용역량’을 발휘하지 못했던 학습자가 팀 프로젝트 활동 이후 능동적으로 자신의 글을 수정하려는 성찰도 수행했다는 또 다른 유의미한 결과도 얻을 수 있었다.

영어초록

The extension of life expectancy and the development of science has required change and transformation, not only regarding a person’s quality of life but also the direction of liberal arts classes and their methods. From this point of view, the necessity of cultivating digital-based ‘information utilization competency’ that can respond to changes in social structure has increased, even in the writing classes of college liberal arts subjects, which are ‘communication’ based and which use ‘written language’ as a medium.
The K University writing class was designed as a team project and conducted as a process-oriented curriculum. It used the Allo app to improve learners’ information utilization competency. During three weeks of classes team project conducted practical writing practice using personal writing to develop ‘information utilization competency’ related to the authenticity of students. The Allo-based team activity class was constructed to elevate the combined academic knowledge and procedural knowledge, both contextualized through ‘written language’ in the preceding individual writing process and to reproduce useful ‘information.’ It was done using various media, such as ‘voice language’ and ‘written language,’ and through team activities. It was a process focused on ‘re-contextualization,’ achieved by producing discussion, journal writing, product selection, and re-contextualization. Experiences necessary in developing the results were extended to using various media built into Allo, thereby deepening the learner’s functional information utilization competency. At the same time, through the process of the re-contextualization of academic content, such as journal writing, the critical interaction of team members, and the reflection that occurs in the process of the final production, all team members were able to directly or indirectly revise and modify their information utilization. Moreover, students were able to develop their information utilization competencies. In particular, the comprehensive thinking process, including the meta-cognitive domain, which contextualized one’s logic at the elementary level of data collection and the use of verified data, shared the writings of students and team members through a discussion process to produce outputs.
The successful class showed that lifelong education and the ability to utilize information as a global civilian competency in a knowledge-based society should be cultivated through writing classes using various media. In particular, we can say that the meaning of competence lies in the ‘productivity’ of problem-solving through information as a response strategy for the future society. Another significant result was the reflection of students who had failed to develop proactively and actively in personal writing revised personal writing after the Allo-based team project. I end this article by leaving the lesson design for such learners as a follow-up task.
