스토리텔링에 기반한 언어활동 중심의 유아 인성교육 프로그램 개발 및 적용효과 (Development and effects of an early childhood character education program through language activities based on storytelling)

초록

본 연구의 목적은 스토리텔링에 기반한 언어활동 중심의 유아 인성교육 프로그램을 개발하고, 이를 만 4세 유아에게 적용하여 그 효과를 검증함으로써 영유아 교육현장의 적용 타당성을 검토하는 것이다. 프로그램의 적용 효과를 알아보기 위해 W시에 위치한 Y어린이집과 W어린이집에 재원 중인 만 4세 유아 40명을 대상으로 2017년 10월 30일부터 2018년 2월 9일까지 연구를 실시하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 본 프로그램은 유아의 전체 자아개념과 하위요소인 신체적 자아, 부모관계 자아, 언어 자아, 수학 자아에서 긍정적인 효과가 있었다. 둘째, 본 프로그램은 유아의 전체 공감능력과 하위요소인 슬픔, 심적 부담, 기쁨, 불안 모두에서 긍정적인 효과가 있었다. 셋째, 본 프로그램은 유아의 전체 친사회적 행동과 하위요소인 지도성, 도움주기, 의사소통, 주도적 배려, 접근 시도하기, 나누기, 감정이입 및 조절 모두에서 긍정적인 효과가 있었다. 이러한 연구결과는 스토리텔링에 기반한 언어활동 중심의 유아 인성교육 프로그램이 영유아 교육현장에 적용 가능함을 보여주는 것이며, 기존의 유아 인성교육 프로그램과 차별화된 스토리텔링 접근 중심의 언어활동을 통한 유아 인성교육 프로그램으로서의 가치가 있음을 시사해주고 있다.

영어초록

The objective of this study is to develop an early childhood character education program through language activities based on storytelling, and also to verify its applicability to the early childhood education field by applying it to four-year-old children and then verifying its effects. To understand the effects of applying the program, a research was conducted targeting total 40 young children(4Y) of Y daycare center and W daycare center located in W city, from October 30, 2017 to February 9, 2018. The results of this study are as follows. First, this program showed positive effects on the whole self-concepts of young children, and the sub-elements such as physical self, parental relationship self, linguistic self, and mathematical self. Second, this program showed positive effects on the whole empathic abilities of young children, and the sub-elements such as sorrow, psychological pressure, joy, and anxiety. Third, this program showed positive effects on the whole prosocial behaviors of young children, and the sub-elements such as leadership, helping, communication, self-directed consideration, attempt to approach, sharing, empathy, and regulation of emotions. Fourth, this program showed positive effects on the whole linguistic expressions of young children, and the sub-elements such as creating a story based on pictures and creating a connected story based on pictures. Such results of this study show the applicability of the early childhood character education program through language activities based on storytelling to the early childhood education field, and also imply the value of the early childhood character education program through language activities focusing on storytelling approach, differentiated from the existing early childhood character education programs.
