초록

A Driving Gear that transmits the torque of motor to the wheels of vehicle is one of the most important driving units of railway vehicle. We have to maintain this unit thoroughly to ensure the running safety for railway vehicle.
First of all, state of the Driving Gear bearing must be monitored continuously because the major cause of the fault of the Driving Gear is bearing’s flaking come from the contact fatigue of internal gear.
In this paper, we measured vibration at the Driving Gear used in the Korail Airport Railroad’s EMU and analyzed natural frequency of the bearing. And then we suggest scientific and effective technique for the maintenance to detect the fault of the Driving Gear bearing without disassembling by analyzing the vibration and frequency of the bearing.
