업종에 따른 BSC 관점 및 핵심성과지표의 가중치 설계 - 전략 및 업종변수의 주 효과 검증 - (The Weight Design of BSC Perspectives and KPI by Industry - Main Effects Verification of Strategy and Industry Variables -)

초록

본 연구는 BSC 도입 후 5년 이상 경과된 대기업 및 중견기업의 설문결과를 바탕으로 전략 및 업종에 따른 BSC의 관점과 세부성과지표의 가중치 설계의 차이를 검증하며 아울러 업종별 세부성과지표의 가중치 설계를 제시하였다. 본 연구의 분석을 위해 각 관점 및 세부성과지표의 가중치 도출은 AHP를 활용하고, 가설검증은 비모수 검정인 Kruskal Wallis 검정과 Dunett T3 그리고 집단별 평균 비교분석을 실시하였다.
분석결과, 분석대상기업의 관점별 가중치 평균은 재무, 고객, 내부 프로세스, 학습 및 성장 관점의 순으로 각 34.65%, 29.92%, 20.97%, 14.43%로 나타났다. 통신업과 건설업의 경우, 고객관점의 가중치를 가장 중시하였으며, 기타 업종은 재무관점을 가장 중요시 하는 것으로 나타났다. 특히 건설업은 고객, 학습, 내부, 재무관점의 순으로 가중치를 부여하고 있어 타 업종과는 많은 차이가 있었다. 전략에 따른 관점별 가중치 설계는 선행연구의 결과와 같이 유의한 차이가 있었으나 업종통제 후, 전략에 따른 가중치 설계의 차이는 제조업에서만 유의한 결과가 확인되었다.
업종에 따른 가중치 설계의 차이는 전략통제가 없는 경우, 선행연구의 일부 결과와 부분적으로 일치하는 것으로 나타났으나, 전략 통제 후, 업종에 따른 가중치 차이는 없는 것으로 나타나 관점별 가중치 설계에 대한 업종만의 순수영향력은 없는 것으로 판단된다. 그러나 관점 내 KPI의 업종별 가중치 설계는 유의한 차이를 보였는데, 매출성장, 투자수익률, 고객만족도, 제품/서비스 개발, 신규시장 개발, 보유 기술에서 차이를 보였으며, 특히 재무관점의 투자수익률 지표는 업종별로 매우 유의한 차이를 보이고 있었다. 추가적으로 업종별 KPI의 상대적 가중치 순위를 분석한 결과, 건설업을 제외한 모든 업종에서 매출성장이 가장 중요한 지표로 선정되었으며, 이하 고객만족도와 원가절감이 공통의 중요지표로 선정되었고, 기타지표에 대해서는 업종에 따라 차이를 보였다.
본 연구는 그간의 전략과 업종 각각의 변수에 대해 연구되어왔던 BSC의 관점별 가중치 설계의 연구에서 나아가 상호 변수 간 통제를 통해 각 변수의 주 효과를 각각 검증함으로써 전략과 업종 각 변수만의 가중치 설계에 대한 영향력의 차이를 명확히 할 수 있었다. 또한 비교의 영역을 KPI 수준으로 확대하고 업종별 가중치 설계의 차이를 구체화함으로써 동일 업종 간 타 기업과의 비교를 통해 자사의 역량집중의 방향을 구체화할 수 있으며, BSC를 도입 중에 있거나 운영 중인 기업에 대해 BSC 활용 및 운영에 대한 유의한 참고자료로서의 역할을 기대할 수 있다.

영어초록

The objective of this study is to empirically verify the weight design difference of BSC perspectives and KPI in according to the strategy and Industry. In particular, it is to examine the factor that a greater impact on the weight design of the two factors identified through previous research. in addition, it proposes the weight design of KPI by industry.
The subjects of this study is a large enterprise with more than 5 years after the introduction of the bsc. For hypothesis testing, The AHP was utilized to calculate the weights of BSC perspectives and KPI. And applied kruskal Wallis and Dunett T3 and the average comparative analysis by strategy and industry .
The results of the study are summarized as follows. The weight average of the financial, customer, internal processes, learning and growth perspective was 34.65%, 29.92%, 20.97%, 14.43%, respectively. In average, the importance of the financial perspective were still focused. But In the case of communications and construction, the weight of the customer perspective was the most important, other sectors were financial perspective. In particular, the weight of the construction sector was a sequence of customers, learning and growth, internal process, financial perspective. It was a lot of differences with other sectors. As the results of the previous studies, the weight design by the strategy was significant differences, but weight design difference by the strategy after controlling the industry was founded only in the manufacturing and construction. In other words, the strategy is more significant than the impact of the industry. This was particularly noticeable in learning and growth perspective.
If there is no control strategy, the weight design difference by the industry appeared to be consistent with some of the result as part of the previous studies. However, after controlling the strategy, it showed no difference by the industry. Therefore, the net impact of the industry is expected not.
However, looking at the KPI weight design according to the industry has been found a significant difference. These are sales growth, return on investment, customer satisfaction, product / service development, new market development, technical reserves indicators. In particular, there was a very significant difference in ROI indicators of the financial perspective. In addition, the most important indicator is sales growth in all sectors except construction. Next, customer satisfaction and cost reduction have been selected as important indicators of a common, it differed depending on the sector for other indicators.
This study was the starting that there is a difference in the weight design of the BSC perspectives in previous studies in accordance with the strategy and the industry. By verifying the main effects of each variable through the controlling of the other variables, this study was to clarify the difference between the influence of the weight design strategy and Industry. In addition, the comparison area was enlarged to the KPI level. And by industry, the weight design difference was embodied. So, this study is expected to be a reference in utilizing the BSC through the same cross-industry comparisons and to help to propose the strategic direction for performance improvement.
