초록

융·복합콘텐츠 산업에서 시장창출에 주요한 장르인 영화 및 드라마의 완성도를 높이고, 컨텐츠를 풍부하게 해주는 것이 특수영상 분야이다. 특수영상 산업시장은 영화, 게임 및 방송 프로그램 제작 관련 기술서비스 형태로 활성화되고 있는데, 영화시장의 급성장과 블록버스터 영화제작의 증가, 케이블 TV 및 OTT컨텐츠 드라마 제작의 질적 성장과 함께 특수영상 산업의 잠재력은 크다. 본 연구는 특수영상 분야 중 수중촬영 전문기업인 ㈜씨플렉스필름의 인터뷰를 통하여 창업 및 기업성장의 성공요인을 분석하고 그 시사점을 제언하였다. 연구문제는 다음과 같다. 1) ㈜씨플렉스필름의 창업성공요인은 무엇인가? 2) 기업을 성장시킨 핵심요인은 무엇인가? 3) 도출된 결과를 통해 기업성장과 사회적 가치창출을 위한 시사점은 무엇인가? 연구문제에 대한 연구를 수행하기 위해 ㈜씨플렉스필름의 대표를 인터뷰하여 특수영상 분야의 잠재성, 수중촬영 분야의 특징을 파악하였고, 관련 내용을 토대로 창업 및 기업성장의 핵심요인, 기업경영과 R&D를 수행하면서 부딪쳤던 장애요인 등을 분석하였다. 본 연구를 통해 도출된 기업의 성공요인은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 정부 R&D 지원사업 참여와 다양한 비즈니스 모델 확보를 통해 재정적 안정성 도모했다. 둘째, 특수영상 제작 시장의 트랜드를 파악하고, 과거의 시행착오와 경험을 학습하여 지속가능한 성장과 혁신을 위해 노력했다. 셋째, 수중촬영 장비 개발과 영상컨텐츠 확장을 통해 사회적 가치를 창출하였다. 넷째, 조직혁신과 상생을 통한 산업생태계 확장으로 문화예술계의 선한 영향력을 확산하였다. 본 연구의 학술적 기여점은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 국내외 연구가 많지 않은 특수영상 분야의 기업사례를 최초로 조명하였다. 둘째, 융합콘텐츠 산업 내 특수영상 분야에 대한 연구를 확장했다. 셋째, 본 연구는 R&D 투자와 기술개발이 콘텐츠 기업의 핵심성공 요소임을 보여주었고, 특수 산업군에서의 스타트업 성장전략을 제시하여 창업학, 경영학, 기술경영 연구에 중요한 학문적 시사점을 제공하였다.

In the convergence content industry, the special visual effects sector plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of major genres such as films and dramas, which are central to market creation, as well as in enriching content offerings. The special visual effects industry has developed primarily through technical services related to the production of films, games, and broadcasting programs. With the rapid growth of the film market, the increasing production of blockbuster films, and the qualitative advancement of cable TV and OTT content dramas, the potential of the special visual effects sector has significantly expanded. This study aims to analyze the success factors behind the founding and growth of Sea Flex FILM, a company specializing in underwater filming within the special visual effects industry, and to propose strategic implications based on the findings. The research questions guiding this study are as follows: What were the critical success factors in the founding of Sea Flex FILM? What were the key drivers behind the company's growth? What implications can be drawn for corporate growth and the creation of social value? To address these questions, an in-depth interview was conducted with the CEO of Sea Flex FILM. The study explored the potential of the special visual effects market and the unique characteristics of underwater filming. Based on the analysis of the interview data, the research identified the critical factors for the company's founding and growth, as well as the challenges encountered during business management and R&D activities.The findings of this study are as follows: First, Sea Flex FILM secured financial stability through participation in government R&D support programs and the diversification of its business models. Second, the company pursued sustainable growth and continuous innovation by identifying market trends and learning from past experiences and failures. Third, it contributed to the creation of social value through the development of specialized underwater filming equipment and the expansion of video content production. Lastly, by promoting organizational innovation and fostering a spirit of mutual growth, Sea Flex FILM expanded the industry's ecosystem and exerted a positive influence on the cultural and arts sectors. These results offer meaningful implications for companies seeking sustainable growth and social value creation within the rapidly evolving special visual effects industry.
