金商範의『錦南詩集』과『錦人抄』비교 고찰 (A Comparative Study of Kim Sang-bum’s 『Geumnam Sijip』 and 『Geumincho』)

초록

본 논고는 金商範의 『錦南詩集』과 『錦人抄』 비교 고찰이다. 『錦南詩集』과 『錦人抄』는 錦南 金商範의 시문집으로 집안의 후손이 보존하여 오다 필자가 처음으로 학술적 연구 대상으로 삼게 되었음을 문제의 제기에서 밝혔다. 『錦南詩 集』의 원전 개관에서 원문의 誤謬는 作詩法과 文理上에 근거하여 바로잡았고 誤記는 필사 과정의 오류로 판단되는 내용을 바로잡았다. 『금인초』에 실려 있 는 작품은 53편으로 52편은『錦南詩集』에서 초록 되었고 단 한 작품만『錦南詩集』에 수록되어있지 않은 작품임을 고찰할 수 있었다. 원작품을 수정 보완한 곳은 모두 71군데가 발견되었다. 이를 토대로 작품의 내용 고찰은 祖述的 美學· 詩壇的 交遊 · 自然的 觀照로 고찰하였다. 『錦南詩集』과 『錦人抄』의 의의를 정리 제시하였다. 첫째, 청주지역에서 활동하였던 詩壇들의 현황과 활동을 파악하는데 도움이 된다. 아직까지 이 시기 청주지역 유림의 학맥과 활동을 구체적 으로 고찰한 논고는 보이지 않는다. 둘째, 이 시문집에는 錦南이 시를 짓거나 감흥을 얻은 장소가 나타나 있어서 청주지역사 연구 및 이해에 도움이 된다. 이 시문집에 수록된 시는 역사성을 지닌 지역의 다양한 지명과 그 변화를 연구 하는데 도움이 된다. 셋째, 당시 이 지역에서 활발하게 개최된 각종 詩社의 현 황과 이들의 사회활동을 이해할 수 있는 자료가 된다. 錦南 역시 여러 시회 등 에 참여하여 시를 짓거나 다른 유림들과 관계를 맺으면서 문학성의 구현은 물 론 함께 사회의 현안을 고민하였을 것이다. 넷째, 『錦南詩集』과 『錦人抄』의 배경이었던 이 지역 松谷과 그 주변은 현재 청주시 테크노폴리스의 산업 개발로 그 자취가 상전벽해가 되었다. 청주 지역사회의 전체상을 복원하는데 도움이 될 것으로 그 의의를 밝히고자 하였다

영어초록

This study presents a comparative analysis of Kim Sang-bum’s Geumnam Sijip and Geumincho. Geumincho is a collection of works that serves as an excerpted anthology from Geumnam Sijip. To begin, I provided an overview of the original texts of both anthologies. The review of textual errors is an essential preliminary step in any study before proceeding with translation of the works. Therefore, I conducted an initial comparison and analysis of the two materials to prepare for this work.
In the overview of the original text of Geumnam Sijip, I corrected textual errors based on issues of poetic style and linguistic consistency, and I also addressed inaccuracies likely caused by the manuscript transcription process. In compiling a list of errors in the original Geumnam Sijip, I found 52 errors in a total of 304 poems across 273 sections. This suggests that the manuscript is not the original autograph of the author but rather a copy transcribed by a descendant and handed down within the family as the original document.
The works included in Geumincho consist of 53 pieces, 52 of which were excerpted from Geumnam Sijip, with one poem not included in Geumnam Sijip. Additionally, in Geumincho, revisions and improvements were made to the original works from Geumnam Sijip. Of the 52 poems, 13 were identical to the original works, while the remaining 39 were revised and enhanced. A total of 71 modifications were found in the revised works. This suggests the meticulous approach of Kim Sang-bum in refining his Chinese literary works. From this, it became clear that his poetic and scholarly insights were directly reflected in his work.
In the context of interpersonal relations, this study uncovered significant material for researching the academic lineage and activities of the Confucian scholars in the Cheongju region from the 19th to the early 20th century. Regarding the depiction of nature, Geumnam Sijip provides a literary representation of the natural landscape surrounding Kim Sang-nam’s life, including the areas of Gangseodong and Waebukdong in Cheongju, which are now lost to time. Through his literary works, the value of these places can be appreciated.
Moreover, Geumnam Sijip and Geumincho serve as valuable sources for understanding the state of poetry societies and the social activities of the time. Poetry societies in the region were spaces where local Confucian scholars would compose poems or engage in social interactions, often around scenic spots. Kim Sang-bum himself participated in various poetry societies such as Hwadong Poetry Society, Songjeol Poetry Society, and Balsan Poetry Society, where he either composed poems or formed connections with other scholars. This contributes to a deeper understanding of the social fabric of the Cheongju community during that period.
