청소년들의 여가활동요구를 통한 여가공간 활성화 방안 (Revitalization Methods through the Actual Condition of Adolescents’ Leisure Activities)

초록

This study aims to explore revitalization methods for adolescents to engage in positive and developmental healthy leisure activities. A survey was conducted to determine the current status of leisure activities and the demands of adolescents. First, the type of leisure activity participation and satisfaction level of leisure activities were identified. Second, the current status and problems of leisure activities of adolescents were identified. Third, ways to create and promote space for healthy leisure activities for adolescents were explored. A total of 300 middle school students in Daejeon participated in the survey, and SPSS statistics 23.0 was used to analyze the data. The main findings are as follows: The participants’ main leisure activities were playing games, surfing the Internet, and chatting.
The average level of satisfaction with leisure activities was 3.52, and most adolescents did not use leisure facilities. Results reveal that surveyed adolescents find it difficult to participate in leisure activities mainly because they “did not have time to participate” and because they thought “it would interfere with their studies.” Common opinions presented in terms of conditions and measures to revitalize leisure facilities required by adolescents were the “development of interesting programs, low fees for use, promotion of leisure facilities for youths, and expansion of leisure time.”
