청소년의 스트레스와 생태학적 변인과의 관계 (Relationships of Ecological Variables with Adolescents' Stress)

초록

This study was to investigate the effect of the ecological variables on the stress of Korean adolescents. The ecological variables in this study were self-esteem for individuals, relationship with teachers and friends for school environments, city size(big city, small city, and county) for the community environment. The data in this study were used from the Korea Youth Panel Survey for 3 years from 2003. The participants were 3,388 students from the second year and 3,107 from the third year in middle schools, and 3,033 from the first year in high schools. Cheju-Do was excluded in the survey. The data were analysed by SPSS 12.0 version for ANCOVA, Pearson's partial correlation, stepwise multiple regression, Tukey test for post hoc test, and factor analysis. The results were as follows; firstly, there were significant differences by gender in all school year groups and significant difference by city size only from the third year in middle school. Secondly, there were significant negative correlations with 'adolescents' self-esteem' and 'relationship with parents' on their stress in all school year groups of every city groups. Also, there were various significant negative correlations with 'relationship with friends' and 'relationship with teachers' on their every stress according to all school grades and city size. Finally, the ecological variables were explained by 16～29% on their stress, and self-esteem was the most important variable.
