청소년 성소수자 상담매뉴얼 개발 (Developing a Counseling Manual for Sexual Minority Youths)

초록

본 연구의 목적은 청소년 성소수자를 위한 상담매뉴얼을 개발하는 것이다. 이를 위해 1차년에는 문헌연구를 통해 청소년 성소수자의 특성과 어려움에 대해 살펴보았다. 또한 청소년성소수자 8명의 심층면접을 통해 상담과정에서 경험한 것에 대해 살펴보았다. 이를 통합하여 상담매뉴얼의 구성요소를 도출하였다. 또한 상담자 변인이 중요하므로 청소년 성소수자를 상담한 경험이 있는 상담자 10명에 대한 심층면접을 실시하여 이를 분석하고 상담매뉴얼 내용에 포함시켰다. 2차년에는 문헌연구와 요구분석을 토대로 집단상담 프로그램 개발 절차에 따라 상담매뉴얼을 개발하였다. 이를 전문가 3인의 내용타당도 검증과 상담자에 13명에 대한 교육을 실시한 후 평가를 통해 수정·보완하여 청소년 성소수자 상담매뉴얼을 완성하였다. 구체적인 매뉴얼 내용은 다음과 같다. 첫 번째 영역으로 상담자로서의 자기인식 점검하기 (상담자의 자기인식 점검, 호모포비아란?, 내재된 호모포비아 점검하기), 두 번째 영역으로 청소년 성소수자에 대한 이해(성소수자의 개념, 청소년 성소수자의 심리사회적 특성, 성소수자의 정체성 발달과정, 성소수자의 커밍아웃, 청소년 성소수자의 성), 세 번째 영역으로 청소년 성소수사자 상담의 기초(성소수자 상담의 개념, 상담목표, 상담자의 자세, 성소수자 상담자가 겪는 어려움, 성소수자상담자의 부적절한 개입), 네 번째영역으로 주제별 상담개입(성적 지향과 성정체성, 성별 정체성과 성별표현, 동성애 험오성 괴롭힘, 커밍아웃) 등이다.

영어초록

The purpose of this study is to develop a counseling manual for sexual minority youths. To this end, in the first year, the characteristics and difficulties of sexual minority youths were examined through literature review. In addition, the experience of sexual minority youths were examined through in-depth interviews with eight sexual minority youths. The foregoing were put together to derive the components of the counseling manual. Furthermore, in-depth interviews were conducted with 10 counselors who had experience dealing with sexual minority youths, the responses were analyzed, and the results of analysis were included in the content of the counseling manual. In addition, focus group interviews were conducted with 10 counselors of specialized sexual minority counseling institutions, which have begun to be established recently, to obtain implications for effective intervention strategies. In the second year, a counseling manual was developed through the procedure for development of group counseling programs presented by Kim Chang-dae et al. (2011) based on literature research and requirement analysis. The content validity of the developed counseling manual was verified by three experts and 13 counselors were educated on the relevant manual. Thereafter, the relevant manual was revised and supplemented through evaluation to complete the sexual minority youth counseling manual. The concrete contents of the manual are as follows. The first area is checking self-awareness as a counselor (checking the counselor's self-awareness, What is homophobia?, Checking the inherent homophobia), the second area is understanding sexual minority youths (concept of sexual minorities, the psychosocial characteristics of sexual minority youths, the process of development of sexual minority’s identity, sexual minorities’ coming out, and the sex of sexual minority youths), the third area is the basics of counseling sexual minority youths (concept of sexual minority counseling, goal of counseling, counselor's attitude, difficulties experienced by sexual minority counselors, inappropriate intervention by sexual minority counselors), and the fourth area is counseling interventions by theme (sexual orientation and gender identity, identities by gender and expressions by gender, homophobic bullying, and coming out).
