장애통합어린이집 보육교사와 특수교사의 하루일과 내 권리존중에 대한 중요도와 실행도에 대한 인식 비교 (Comparison between child care and education teachers and special education teachers’ perception on the importance and the implementation of respect for children’s rights within daily routines at inclu)

초록

본 연구는 장애통합어린이집의 보육교사, 특수교사를 대상으로 하루일과 내 권리존중에 대한 중요도와 실행도에 대한 인식과, 시행 관련 어려움 및 해결 방법을 알아보고자 하였다. 서울, 경기 내 장애통합어린이집에서 통합보육을 담당하는 보육교사와 특수교사 170명을 대상으로 설문조사를 하였다. 수집된 정량 자료는 t검증을, 개방형 설문은 응답 자료에 대한 내용분석을 통해 빈도순으로 정리하였다. 연구의 결과는, 첫째, 교사집단 간 하루일과 내 권리존중에 대한 중요도와 실행도 비교에서 유의한 차이를 보이지 않았으며, 두 집단 다 높은 수준을 보였다. 둘째, 교사집단 내 하루일과 내 권리존중에 대한 중요도 인식이 실행도에 비해 유의하게 높았다. 셋째, 개방형 설문에서 하루일과 내 권리존중의 어려움으로는 일상적 양육존중 부분에서 개별적 요구와 욕구충족, 교사 대 아동 비율을, 보육활동 존중부분에서는 누리과정(놀이중심), 개별적 성향(문제행동)을 이야기하였다. 넷째, 개방형 설문에서 어려움을 해결하는 방안으로 일상적 양육존중에서 교사 대 아동 비율, 지속적인 설명과 도움을, 보육활동 존중에서는 교사 대 아동 비율, 환경변화와 환경제공의 필요성을 제안하였다. 본 연구 결과는 장애통합어린이집에서 권리존중 실행도를 높일 수 있는 방안에 대한 중요성을 시사한다.

영어초록

This research intended to investigate child care and education teachers and special education teachers’ perceptions on the importance and the implementation of respect for children’s rights and difficulties in and solutions for implementing within daily routines in inclusive settings. This research collected survey data for 170 child care and education teachers and special education teachers at inclusive child care and education centers in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do. Quantitative data were analyzed by t-tests and qualitative data from open-ended questions were analyzed through content analysis and ordered by frequencies.
Results of the study are as follows. First, there were no significant differences between two groups’ perceptions in the importance and the implementation of respect for child rights. Second, in both groups, perception on the importance was higher than that on the implementation for the child rights. Third, open-ended questions revealed that difficulties in implementing respect for children’s right were individual demand, desire satisfaction, and teacher-child ratio in the respect of ordinary child-rearing, and play-based national curriculum and individual characteristics(problem behavior) in the respect of childcare activities. Fourth, solutions suggested for these difficulties were decreasing high teacher-child ratio, and providing consistent explanations and supports in terms of respect for child rearing, and decreasing teacher-child ratio and environmental changes and supports in terms of respect for childcare activities. These results suggest ways to elevate the implementation levels of respect for children’s rights in inclusive child care setting.
