5세 누리과정 유치원 교사용 지도서와 어린이집 프로그램에 나타난 지속가능발전을 위한 물교육 활동내용 분석 (An analysis of the water activities contents for the sustainable development which appear in the teachers' manual for kindergarten and child-care center program prepared by the five year old age Nuri )

초록

유아기의 물교육은 지속가능발전의 관점에 기초하여 체계적으로 실행되어야 한다고 본다. 이에 본 연구의 목적은 5세 누리과정에 의한 유치원․어린이집 교사용 지도서에서 다루고 있는 물 관련 활동 내용을 지속가능발전의 상호보완적 요소인 ‘환경․경제․사회’의 측면에서 분석하는 것이다. 분석대상은 5세 누리과정 ‘유치원 교사용 지도서’ 11권과 ‘어린이집 프로그램’ 4권(12주제)이다. 이를 위해 지속가능발전을 위한 물교육 활동내용의 10가지 분석기준에 따라 빈도와 백분율을 산출하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 물교육 활동은 ‘물활동 내용 분석 기준’에 비추어 볼 때 단순히 ‘환경’적 차원에서 ‘물의 특성’을 탐색하는 활동에 편중되어 있었다. 둘째, 물활동 내용의 과반수 정도가 ‘자연탐구’ 영역에서의 ‘물의 특성’에 국한되어 있었다. 셋째, 물활동은 ‘이야기나누기’ ‘과학영역’, ‘실외놀이’의 몇 가지 활동영역(영역)에서 주로 다루어지고 있었다. 따라서 유아기의 지속가능발전을 위한 물교육이 되기 위해서는 5개 주요영역을 고루 포함시키고 다양한 활동유형을 활용하여서 ‘환경․경제․사회’의 세 측면을 통합할 수 있는 물교육의 방향과 활동내용이 강구되어야 할 것이다.

영어초록

We, researchers, think that an education of water in early childhood should be systematically executed on the basis of the sustainable development perspective. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to analyze the contents of water-related activities introduced in the manuals of kindergarten and child-care center teachers, which are prepared by the five year old age Nuri Curriculum, from the aspects of an environment, an economy, and a society which are mutually complemental factors for sustainable development, and intends to suggest a direction and contents of water activities for sustainable development which will be executed in a field of early childhood education. The subjects of the analysis were eleven books of 'the manual for kindergarten teachers' and four books (twelve themes) of 'the program for child-care center', which are prepared by the five year old age Nuri Curriculum. For the research, a frequency and a percentage are calculated on the ten analysis criterion basis of water-related activities for the sustainable development. As a result of the analysis, first, water activities put too much emphasis on activities of questing 'water characteristics' in a simply 'environmental' dimension from the analysis frame viewpoint of water activity contents. Second, about a half of water activities contents are limited to 'water characteristics' in the field of 'nature exploration'. Third, water activities are handled in a few areas such as 'the story talking', 'the science area' or 'the outdoor play'. Therefore, in order to drive for the water education in early childhood for sustainable development, we need to seek for the direction and activity contents of water education, which are able to integrate three aspects of an environment, an economy and a society, while including five main domains and utilizing various kinds of activity types.
