교사-유아 상호작용훈련(TCIT)이 어린이집 환경에서 교사-유아 상호작용과 유아의 문제행동에 미치는 효과(사례연구) (The Effect of Teacher-Young Child Interaction Training(TCIT) on Teachers' Positive Interactions and Young Children's Problem Behaviors in Daycare Environment(Case study))

초록

본 연구는 교사-유아 상호작용훈련(Teacher-Children Interaction Training, 이하 TCIT) 프로그램이 교사와 문제행동을 보이는 유아의 상호작용과 문제행동에 미치는 효과를 검증하고자 하였다. 연구대상은 서울시 E구 어린이집에 재원 중이며, 교사용 유아행동 평가척도(C-TRF)에서 문제행동 척도가 임상범위(T>64)에 해당하는 만 4-6세 유아와 담임교사 4쌍이다. 이들은 주1회 60분씩 총 15회기 동안 TCIT 프로그램에 참여하였다. 프로그램 전과 후에 부모-아동 상호작용 코딩시스템(DPICS), 아이버그 유아행동 검사(ECBI), 교사용 유아 행동평가척도(C-TRF)를 실시하여 어린이집 환경 내에서 교사와 유아의 상호작용, 문제행동 유아에 대한 교사의 인식과 유아의 문제행동 변화를 측정하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 교사와 문제행동을 보이는 유아의 상호작용에서 교사의 부정적인 언어 사용은 감소하였고, 긍정적인 언어 사용은 증가하였다. 둘째, 유아의 문제행동 강도와 교사가 인식하는 유아의 문제행동이 감소하였고 문제행동 총점이 임상수준이던 유아의 문제행동 수치가 정상범위로 낮아졌다. TCIT 프로그램을 통해 교사는 문제행동을 보이는 유아에 대해 수용적인 태도를 갖게 되었으며 이는 교사와 유아의 관계에도 긍정적인 영향을 주었음을 알 수 있다. 이와 같이, TCIT가 어린이집 환경 내에서 교사와 문제행동을 보이는 유아의 긍정적 상호작용과 유아의 문제행동 감소에 효과적임을 지지하는 경험적 증거를 제시했음에 의의가 있다.

영어초록

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of the Teacher-Young Child Interaction Training (TCIT) program on teachers and the positive interactions and problem behaviors of young children. The subjects of this study are young children aged 4-6 and 4 pairs of homeroom teachers who attend a daycare center in E-gu, Seoul, and whose problem behavior scale falls within the clinical range (T>64) on the Care giver-Teacher Report Form(C-TRF). They participated in the TCIT program for a total of 15 sessions, 60 minutes once a week.
Before and after the program the Dyadic parent-young child interaction coding system(DPICS), the Eyberg young children behavior test(ECBI) and Care giver-Teacher Report Form(C-TRF) were implemented, to allow teacher-young child interactions and problem behaviors within the daycare environment. The interaction between teachers and young children in the daycare environment, teachers' perception of young children with problem behaviors and changes in young children's problem behaviors were measured.
As a result of the study, first, the teacher's negative language use decreased and the positive language use increased in the interaction between the teacher and the young children who showed problem behavior. Second, the intensity of young children's problem behavior and the young children's problem behavior perceived by the teacher decreased. Most of all, the value of problem behaviors of young children whose total problem behavior score was at the clinical level was lowered to the normal range. Through the TCIT program, teachers had a receptive attitude toward young children who showed problem behavior, and this had a positive effect on the relationship between teachers and young children. As such, it is significant that TCIT has provided empirical evidence supporting that it is effective in reducing the problem behavior of children and the positive interaction of children who show problem behavior with teachers in the daycare environment.
