재혼초기 모친과 동거하는 여중생의 가족생활갈등에 대한 질적 연구 (A qualitative study on the conflicts of female middle school students who live with remarried mother at their early remarried)

초록

본 연구는 여자중학생이 모친의 재혼으로 새롭게 형성된 재혼가족생활에서 겪는 갈등을 알아보기 위한 것이다. 이를 위해 재혼가족 여자중학생 5명을 대상으로 심층면담을 실시한 후 수집된 자료를 질적 사례연구방법으로 분석하였다. 그 결과 재혼 전 단계에서의 갈등, 재혼가족생활에서의 갈등 및 친구들과 친밀감 형성의 어려움에 대한 갈등이라는 3개의 핵심범주와 15개의 하위범주가 도출되었다. 여자중학생들은 재혼가족생활에서 마음의 준비가 필요한데 몰라줘서 속상함, 엄마의 재혼은 곧 아빠를 못 만나게 되는 것, 모르는 사람한테 엄마를 뺏기는 기분, 연인 같은 신혼부부를 이해해야 하는 복잡한 마음, 계부와만 시간을 보내는 엄마가 섭섭하고 낯설음, 감옥에 갇힌 느낌 및 상황을 바꿀 수 없다는 무력감, 소외당하지 않으려고 진짜 마음을 숨김, 계부로 인한 모녀간 대화단절, 나만의 엄마였던 한부모 시기를 그리워함, 엄마를 사이에 둔 경쟁적인 삼각관계, 계부는 가족이 아니고 남임, 여자중학생들이 바라는 계부의 역할, 계부의 훈육에 대한 개입 및 친모의 저지, 용돈과 관련된 계부와의 갈등, 재혼은 친구들에게 말하고 싶지 않고 숨겨야 하는 것 등이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구결과는 여자중학생의 재혼가족생활을 이해하고 나아가 재혼가족 청소년들의 적응을 돕는 데 적절한 도움을 줄 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

영어초록

This research aims to examine the conflicts of female middle school students, in a newly formed remarried family. For this research, an in-depth interview was carried out with five female middle school students who belong to a remarried family, and the data collected from this was qualitatively analyzed using the case method. As a result, three core categories namely: the conflicts that arose before remarriage, the conflicts faced in the remarried family and the conflicts that came from hardships in forming intimate friendships were drawn including fifteen other subcategories. The female middle school students in remarried families need time to be ready in the mind, but they become distressed as the parent fail to recognize this, they equate the fact with their mother’s remarriage as not being able to recognize their father anymore, and they also feel that their mother is taken away by someone that they are not familiar with. Furthermore, they are faced with mixed feelings when they must understand a newlywed couple-just like lovers, they also heartbreaked to see their mother spend time with the stepfather, whilst also finding their mother to be quite unfamiliar. They felt like they were locked up in prison, unable to change the circumstances given-hence feeling helpless. Also, they try to hide their true emotions so as not to be neglected, the mother-and daughter relationship may find that communication is lost due to the stepfather, they long for their single- parented days, there may be a love triangle present- having a rivalry for the mother, thinking that the stepfather is not family, but an outsider, the role of a stepfather that the student expects, the stepfathers intervention in parenting and blocking the authority of the mother, conflicts that arise from allowances with the stepfather, and not wanting to tell their friends about the remarriage and thus hiding it and so on has been found. The results of this research hopes to appropriately help and understand the life of female middle school students in remarried families and further aid the juveniles of remarried families so that they can adapt to their given situation.
