CIPP 평가모형을 활용한 교양교육과정의 질 진단 및 개선 방안 (A Study on the Analysis of the Quality of and Improvement Method for the General Education Curriculum using the CIPP Model of Evaluation)

초록

본 연구의 목적은 과정중심 평가모형인 CIPP 평가모형에 기초하여 교양교육과정의 질을 진단하고 그 결과를 토대로개선 방안을 모색하는 것이다. 연구대상은 서울 소재 A대학 교양 교과목을 수강한 학생이다. 진단 결과, 상황평가는기초지식 함양 적합도가 높은 반면, 학습자의 요구 반영 정도는 낮게 나타났다. 투입평가는 교수-학습 방법 운영정도가 높은 반면, 교양교육과정의 운영 기준은 낮게 나타났다. 과정평가는 교수자의 강의계획서 진행 충실도가높은 반면 교양수업에 대한 학습자의 흥미는 낮게 나타났다. 산출평가는 교양과 연계된 비교과프로그램이 학습역량강화에 도움을 주는 정도가 높은 반면, 평가결과를 반영하여 학습역량 개선 및 추후 계획을 세우는 것에 대해서는낮게 나타났다. 산출평가에 영향을 미치는 요인을 분석한 결과, 모든 영역이 유의미하게 영향을 미치지만 과정평가가가장 큰 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다(t=13.63, p<.001). 연구결과를 토대로 교양교육과정에 대한 개선 방안을 제시하면다음과 같다. 첫째, 학습자가 실질적으로 당면하고 있는 문제가 무엇인지, 교양교육의 내용과 방법에서 중요하게요구하고 있는 것이 무엇인지 파악하여 지속적으로 반영해야 할 것이다. 둘째, 대학은 교양교육과정을 효율적으로운영할 수 있는 기준을 수립하여 학습자가 수강신청할 때 최대한 선택의 자유를 보장해야 할 것이다. 셋째, 교양교육과정에서 학습자의 흥미를 향상시킬 수 있도록 교수자는 강의량에 대한 비중보다는 다양한 주제 및 혁신적인 교수법으로능동적이고 적극적인 상호작용이 이루어질 수 있도록, 대학은 자기주도적으로 교과목을 선택하여 이수할 수 있도록학사운영 체제를 개편해야 할 것이다. 넷째, 학습자가 교수자의 평가결과에 대한 데이터를 스스로 분석할 수 있는통합학사관리시스템을 구축해야 할 것이다.

영어초록

This study analyzes the quality of the general education curriculum based on the CIPP model of evaluation, a process-oriented model of evaluation, and seeks improvement methods based on the results. The subjects of the study were students who had taken general education subjects at “a University” in Seoul. In the analysis, the context evaluation revealed high suitability for developing basic knowledge, while the degree of reflection of learners' needs was found to be low. The input evaluation found the operation of the teaching-learning method to be high, while the operating standard of the curriculum for general education was low. The process evaluation showed that the instructors’ fidelity to the syllabus was high, while the learners’ interest in the general education curriculum was low. In the product evaluation, extracurricular programs linked to the general education curriculum to help enhance learning capabilities scored high, while improvement of learning capabilities and making of plans that reflected the evaluation results scored low. The analysis of the factors affecting product evaluation revealed that while all areas have a significant impact, process evaluation has the greatest impact (t=13.63, p<.001). Based on the research, the improvement method for the general education curriculum is as follows. First, it is necessary to identify and continuously reflect the current problems and important demands in the content and method of the general education curriculum. Second, universities should establish standards for the general education curriculum to maximize the number of options when learners register for courses. Third, to enhance learners' interest in the general education curriculum, instructors should take various subjects and use innovative teaching methods rather than the standard lecture to increase interaction in courses, and universities should reorganize the academic management so that learners can choose courses of their own choic . Fourth, it is necessary to establish an integrated academic management system that allows learners to analyze the data of the instructors’ evaluation results for themselves.
