수학 교과학습에 삽입한 진로교육활동이 지적장애학생의 진로인식에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Career Education Activity Imbedded to Mathematical Subject Learning on Career Awareness of Students with Intellectual Disabilities)

초록

본 연구는 수학 교과학습에 삽입한 진로교육활동이 지적장애학생의 진로인식에 미치는 영향을 알아보는데 목적이 있다. 이러한 목적을 위해 ‘수학 교과학습에 삽입한 진로교육활동이 지적장애학생의 진로인식에 미치는 영향은 무엇인가?’ 라는 연구문제를 설정하였다. 연구대상은 C도에 소재하고 있는 초등학교 특수학급에 재학 중인 5, 6학년 지적장애학생 30명으로 선정하였다. 그 중 15명의 지적장애학생은 연구자가 구안한 수학 교과에 삽입한 진로교육활동을 주 2회 씩 총 16회기에 걸쳐 적용하였다. 다른 지적장애학생 15명은 동일한 기간에 독립적인 진로교육활동을 적용하고, 진로인식을 실시하여 사전과 사후의 평균과 표준편차를 산출하며, 공변량 분석(ANCOVA)을 통하여 효과의 차이를 검증하였다. 본 연구의 결과 수학 교과학습에 삽입한 진로교육활동을 실시한 실험집단과 독립적인 진로교육활동을 실시한 통제집단이 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 보임으로써 수학교과학습에 삽입한 진로교육활동이 지적장애학생의 자기이해와 진로태도 영역에서 진로인식에 유의한 효과가 있었다. 수학 교과학습에 삽입한 진로교육활동은 수학적 문제 상황에서 학생들이 자신을 비판적으로 이해하고 여러 가지 직업세계를 깊이 있게 탐구 할 수 있도록 하여 지적장애학생의 진로인식을 높이는데 효과적인 교수·학습방법인 것으로 나타났다.

영어초록

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of career education activity imbedded to mathematical subject learning on career awareness of students with intellectual disabilities. The research problem to achieve the objective was set up as follows : what are the effects of career education activity embedded to mathematical subject learning on career awareness of students with intellectual disabilities? Researcher selected the fifth and sixth graders of 30 students with intellectually disabilities who attend special classes of the elementary school located in Chungcheongbuk-do as subjects of the research. Among the students, first rsearcher chose 15 students with intellectually disabilities and applied career education activity imbedded to mathematical subject learning made by the researcher twice a week, over 16 sets in total, and conducted independent career education program to the other 15 students with intellectually disabilities during the same period. Also, the researcher calculated a pre and post average scores and standard deviation of each test through career awareness test, and verified the difference of effects through analysis of ANCOVA. The result of the study was that by indicating the meaningful difference statistically between the experimental group which was conducted career education activity imbedded to mathematical subject learning and the control group which was conducted independent career education activity, career education activity imbedded to mathematical subject learning was effective in benefitting career awareness of students with intellectual disabilities in terms of self understanding and career attitude. Since the career education activity imbedded in mathematical subject learning helps students in the mathematical problem situation to critically understand themselves and explore various careers deeply, the career education activity has proved to be an effective teaching-learning method for improving career awareness of students with intellectual disabilities.
