20대 취업준비생의 학업소진 잠재프로파일 및 예측변인 탐색 (Academic Burnout Profiles and Predictors of Job Seekers in their 20s)

초록

목적 본 연구는 Leiter와 Maslach(2016)의 연구에서 도출된 직무소진의 5가지 프로파일 향상이 학업소진에서도 확인되는지를탐색하고, 학업소진에서 확인되는 프로파일별로 인지적 정서조절 대처방식이 어떠한 양상을 보이는지를, 그리고 학업소진 유관 변인들과의 관련성은 어떠한지 탐색하고자 하였다.
방법 이를 위하여 본 연구에서는 Maslach Burnout Inventory-student survey(MBI-SS)를 활용하여 307명의 20대 취업준비생을 대상으로 R 4.2.2 프로그램을 사용하여 잠재프로파일분석(Latent profile analysis)과 다항 로지스틱 회귀분석을 실시하였다.
결과 본 연구에서 도출된 프로파일도 Leiter와 Maslach(2016)의 연구와 유사하게 5개가 최적인 것으로 확인되었으며, 각각의프로파일도 Leiter와 Maslach(2016)의 연구에서 도출된 프로파일과 양상이 유사하였다. 특히, ‘Burnout’의 경우, Leiter와Maslach(2016)의 연구결과보다 더 해당 프로파일의 개념에 충실하게 프로파일이 나타났다. 하지만 ‘Disengaged’의 경우, Leiter와 Maslach(2016)가 주장한 바와 달리 cynicism 뿐 아니라 exhaustion도 exhaustion도 동반하여 상승하는 특성을 보였다. 한편 각 잠재프로파일 분류에 대한 예측요인을 검증 결과, 인지적 정서 조절 전략에 있어서 학업 소진이 높은 집단이 다른 집단에비해 수용전략이 높고 문제해결전략은 낮은 프로파일을 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 학업 관련 변인과의 관련성을 살펴보면, 학업소진이 높은 집단이 다른 집단에 비해 학업 자기효능감이 낮고, 학업 미루는 행동, 실패에 대한 두려움, 학습 동기 부족이 높은 양상을보였다.
결론 학업 소진이 특히 학업지연행동 및 학업 자기 효능감과 밀접한 관련이 있음을 시사하므로 향후 연구에서는 이러한 구인 간의인과관계에 주목할 필요가 있다. 또한 향후 조력방안에 대한 이론적, 개입상의 함의를 논의하였다.

영어초록

Objectives This study aimed to explore whether the five profiles of job burnout identified in the research by Leiter & Maslach (2016) are also evident in academic burnout. Additionally, the study investigated the cognitive and emotional regulatory coping strategies exhibited by each profile identified in academic burnout, as well as the associations with relevant variables associated with academic burnout.
Methods To this end, this study conducted latent profile analysis and multinomial logistic regression on 307 job seekers in their 20s using the R 4.2.2 program with the Maslach Burnout Inventory-student survey (MBI-SS).
Results The profiles derived from this study were found to be similar to the five optimal profiles identified in the research by Leiter & Maslach (2016). Each profile exhibited similarities to the profiles identified in Leiter & Maslach's (2016) study. Specifically, in the case of ‘Burnout,’ the profile appeared to adhere more faithfully to the concept of the profile than the research findings of Leiter & Maslach (2016). However, in the case of ‘Disengaged,’ contrary to what Leiter & Maslach (2016) claimed, it showed an increase in both cynicism and exhaustion.
Regarding the validated predictors of each latent profile classification, it was found that the group with high academic burnout exhibited higher levels of accommodative coping strategies and lower levels of problem-solving coping strategies in cognitive and emotional regulation strategies. Furthermore, in terms of the associations with academic-related variables, the high academic burnout group displayed lower academic self-efficacy and higher tendencies for academic procrastination, fear of failure, and lack of learning motivation compared to other groups.
Conclusions The close association between academic burnout and academic procrastination and academic self-efficacy suggests the need for future research to focus on the causal relationship between these constructs.
Furthermore, theoretical and intervention implications for future strategies were discussed.
