戰國時代 秦에서 列國으로의 出質 事例 (An Examples of Sending the Hostages of Lieguo to Qin in Warring States Period)

초록

The purpose of this study is to examine into diplomatic achievements caused by some examples of sending a hostage from Lieguo to Qin. It is closely related to foreign policy of Qin that Qin sent their crown princes as hostages to Lieguo. B.C. 325, Qinhuiwenjun did Chengwang. The fact that ,as a preparatory stage of Chengwang, sending the prince Yao to Wei as a hostage in order to guarantee peace between Qin and Wei in a state of war is a evident case showing that sending hostages was properly used in foreign policy of Qin.
Especially, as in the #6th year of Qinzhaoxiangwang, foreign Jianbingzhan was changed into Jinjiaoyuangong under leading of Ranghou Weiran, the effective diplomatic value of sending hostages became much bigger. Ranghou Weiran tried to attack Qi over Sanjin, and in order to achieve it, he needed cooperation of Samjin.. Therefore after Qin sent the crown prince and Anguojjun, the second son of Qinzhaoxiangwang, respectively to Wei and to Zhao as a hostage, Qin asked for cooperation of them and attacked Qi by forming a peacful military alliance among them.
However in the 39th year of Qinzhaoxiangwang, the foreign policy of Qin chagned from Jinjiaoyuangong to Jingongyuanjiao. This meant that the foreign policy of Qin was changed into Jianbingzhan, showing that the diplomacy through sending a hostage didn't the effective value any more. Although ,as the alternative of Anguojun, the prince Zichu was sent to Cho and after Zichu became the crown prince of Qin, as the alternative of Zichu's family, Qin sent someone to Cho, it seems to have been normal exchanges of hostages.
Synthetically, the feature of sending hostages to Lieguo differs from normal exchanges of hostages of Lieguo. It didn't serve as calls for friendly relations or as requests of troops but was used as a means of solving diplomatic issues of Qin.
