초록

The purpose of the current study is to verify the hierarchial influence of cognitive obstructive factors at two independent stages for decision-making process of tourists. The study result is as follows. Firstly, it was found that obstructive factors influencing potential tourists at the initial consideration stage and the latter consideration stage were statistically different. It was observed that the first obstructive factor encountered by potential tourists was "lack of information on travel and interest" at the initial consideration stage.
At the latter consideration stage, respondents come to perceive more obstructive factors than the initial consideration stage. The total of 9 obstructive groups were recognized at the latter consideration stage such as lack of information, ability and sociality, financial problem, distance/accessibility, possibility of travel, establishment of plan, a sense of burden, lack of transportation, and approval.
In order to verify a hypothesis that cognitive obstructive factors at the latter consideration stage will meaningfully influence decision-making for travel, logistic regression analysis was performed. As a result of the logistic regression analysis for tourists at the latter consideration stage, it was found that lack of information, financial problem and lack of transportation have statistical meaningfulness in explaining decision-making for travel of potential tourists.
The study suggests that traveling to Jeju-do means experiencing new culture and extraordinary social environment with unfamiliar people. Tourists can create individual social relationship and awake to a new world through travel.
