초록

Purpose – The purpose of this study is to examine the characteristics of Ganghwa area as a border and the direction of effective Eco-Museum through discussion of ecological resources. Such an Eco-Museum project in Ganghwa will be able to promote the activation of eco-tourism or security tourism in the region.
Design, data, and methodology – Gangwha area is an important point of ecological tourism and needs an Eco-Museum project as an alternative that can minimize cultural differences between North and South Koreans after unification. Therefore, the effective Eco-Museum project using the eco-tourism resources of Gangwha region is not limited to the eco-tourism, but it is necessary to discuss the possibility of contributing to mutual cooperation between the North and South Koreans.
Result – Cultural competence and resources are elements that can serve a clear purpose for creating a peace park from the perspective of peace or symbolism as a divided nation. And the establishment of an Eco-Museum that can utilize the ecological resources of the border area in this peace park will be of sufficient value in terms of education, tourism, bridge the cultural gap between North and South Koreans, and mutual cooperation.
Conclusions – The implication of this study is that a detailed discussion on the necessity of an Eco-Museum in Ganghwa and the development of eco-tourism resources using it has been made. On the other hand, the limitation of this study is that various satellite museums that can be linked through the operation of the base museum in the Gangwha region are not specifically selected from existing facilities.
