재무복지수준으로 측정한 재무설계상담의 효과 - 은퇴설계에 적용을 중심으로 (The Effects of the Financial Planning Counseling toward Personal Financial Wellness: It's Application to Retirement Planning)

독립판매법인(GA)에 소속된 재무전문가가 개입하여 유료로 진행되는 재무설계상담에대한 관심과 수요가 증가하고 있는 시점에서 본 연구는 재무설계상담이 재무복지수준에미치는 영향을 검증해보고자 하였다. 은퇴설계에 적용할 실천적 함의를 제공하는 것을목적으로 재무설계상담 이전과 재무설계상담이 진행되고 평균 약 14개월이 경과된 이후의 주관적 및 객관적 재무복지수준을 비교하였다. 분석결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 은퇴와 관련된 재무관리태도, 재무관리능력, 재무만족도로 구성된 주관적 재무복지수준은 재무설계상담 이후에 각각의 수치가 유의하게 증가하였다. 특히 재무만족도가 가장큰 폭으로 증가하여 재무설계상담이 은퇴설계의 심리적 측면에 긍정적인 변화를 일으킬수 있다는 점을 확인하였다. 둘째, 객관적 재무복지수준을 단순재무지표로 분석한 결과재무설계상담 이후 유량적 측면에서는 미파악지출과 생활비가 감소하고 저축과 투자, 연금저축액 항목이 증가하는 것과 같은 긍정적 변화가 나타났다. 저량적 측면에서는 투자자산이 증가하여 총자산 및 순자산 항목이 유의한 수준으로 향상되었다. 셋째, 객관적재무복지수준을 재무비율지표로 분석한 결과 가계수지지표, 저축성향지표, 투자성향지표,유동성지표가 통계적으로 유의한 수준으로 향상되었다.

영어초록

This study aimed to examine the impact of financial planning counseling on financialwellness, in light of increased demand of paid financial planning counseling conducted bythe financial specialists belonging to the GA(general agency) who give objective opinionsfor financial planning. To draw the implications of the counseling for the retirement planning,financial wellness was compared between prior to the beginning of the counseling and 14months after the counseling. First, the participants’ attitude and ability of financial managementand level of financial satisfaction related to retirement were measured, and their subjectivefinancial wellness was comparatively analyzed. After the counseling, the participants’ subjectivefinancial wellness, level of financial satisfaction in particular, appeared to be improvedsignificantly. Second, the results showed that the objective financial wellness also improved;savings, investment, and pension savings considerably increased in terms of flow, andunidentified expenditures greatly decreased. There was a positive change in living expenditures,showing that dropped from 1,993,000 won to 1,392,000 won on average. In terms of stock,investment assets was increased and led to significantly decreased total assets and netassets. Last, Participants’ objective financial wellness was analyzed with financial ratios.
All the indices, except the emergency fund, total debt burden ratios and risk protection,appeared to be improved. To summarize these results, financial planning counseling would improve subjective andobjective financial wellness, and the effect would become more significant over time,considering accumulation of change in financial behaviors. Accordingly, in the process ofretirement planning, the households and companies should actively consider introductionof financial planning counseling provided by financial specialist, alongside existing financialeducation, counseling, and planning.
