해체주의 관점에서 아르망의 오브제 작업 관한 연구 (A Study on the Impact of Deconstruction on Arman's Artworks with Object)

초록

아르망(1928~2005)의 오브제 작업은 집적시리즈와 파괴시리즈로 구분할 수 있다. 그는 산업폐기물을 즐겨 사용하였고 파괴적 기법의 일련의 작업으로 기존 예술의 정의에 의문을 던지는 작업을 하였다. 그의 작업은 포스트모더니즘 시대의 정신세계를 설명해주고 있는 해체주의 철학의 특질을 짙게 내포하고 있다. 이에 그의 작품을 해체주의언어로 분석하여 현대의 조형언어로서 재해석하고자 하였다. 해체주의의 중심용어는 차연, 흔적, 산종, 보체, 탈중심으로 요약되며, 이를 근거로 현대 미술에서의 가시적인 표현 양상을 설명하는 분석언어로서 차용, 병치, 이접, 훼손, 절개, 반복, 전위, 흔적의 8개의 기준용어를 도출하였다. 이로써 분석틀을 만들고 그의 10작품을 분석사례로 적용하여 연구를 하였으며, 차용 10, 병치6 ,이접3, 훼손5, 절개3, 반복3, 전위4, 흔적10의 표현빈도수로 설명하였다.. 그 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻을 수 있었다. 첫째, 차용한 이미지를 분석사례 전 작업에서 사용하여 타분야와 활발한 상호교류적 구성을 하였다. 둘째, 병치에 의해 다중적 의미형성으로 작품의 내재적 의미가 풍부해졌다. 셋째, 훼손으로 탈중심적인 미를 표현하여 미학적인 확장이 이루어졌다. 넷째, 흔적의 표현들로 시간적 차연의 의미를 시각적으로 느낄 수 있으며 이러한 차이의 체계는 시간과 공간이 고정되어 있지 않음을 가시화하고 있다. 다섯째, 이접적인 구성으로 고정관념의 해체와 새로운 조형가능성을 제시하고 있다. 여섯째, 의도적 절개와 반복, 및 전위로서 유희개념과 사이여백의 생성으로 작품의 의미내용이 풍부해진다. 이와 같이 그는 고정된 개념에 의문을 제기하고 미학적 고정관념을 해체하였는데, 이는 물성적 재료의 확장으로 전이되었고 예술의 인식론적 틀의 혁신을 이루었다.

영어초록

Arman’s objet work can be divided into the constrution and destruction series. He was willing to use industrial waste and engaged in work that threw questions to the existing definitions of art by means of a series of work with destructive techniques. His work contains thick characteristics of deconstructionist philosophy, which explains the spiritual world of the postmodernism. In this regard, this study tries to analyze his work in the language of deconstructionism and reinterpret it with the current formative keywords. The core terms of deconstructionism reduce to differance, trace, dissemination, supplement, and decentralization, based on which this study draws 8 criterial terms, borrowing, juxtaposition, disjunction, damage, incision, repetition, displacement, and trace as analytical languages accounting the visible aspects of expression in modern art. An analytical framework has been created by those terms, 10 work pieces of Arman’s have been selected as cases for analysis to be subject to analysis, and the analyzed frequencies of expression are 10 for difference, 6 for juxtaposition, 3 for disjunction, 5 for damage, 3 for incision and repetition, 4 for displacement, and 10 for trace. As a result, we can reach the following conclusions. First, active interactive constructions with other fields are made by using borrowed images in the whole analytical cases. Second, internal meanings of the work are made richer by the formation of vague multiple meanings in terms of juxtaposition. Third, aesthetical extension is achieved by the expression of decentralized beauty in terms of damage. Fourth, one can visibly feel the meanings of temporal difference from the expressions of traces, and such a system of differences visualizes the non-fixedness of time and space. Fifth, the disjunctive composition suggests the possibility of deconstruction of stereotypes and novel formatives. Sixth, the formation of the concept of play and gap margins in terms of intentional incision, repetition, and displacement enriches the meaning contents of the work. In this way, Arman has raised questions about stereotyped concepts and deconstructed and turned over aesthetic stereotypes. This has been transferred to the extension of physical materials and achieved renovation of the epistemological framework of art.
