청년 니트족의 진로교육 경험이 진로성숙에 미치는 영향: 구직동기 매개효과를 중심으로 (The effect of career education experience of Youth NEET on career maturity: Focusing on the mediating effect of job search motivation)

초록

국내 청년 실업률이 상승하며 구직활동을 중단 한 청년 니트(NEET; Not in Education, Employment or Training)족의 비율이 OECD국가 3위로 조사되며 사회적 우려가 확대되고 있는 상황이다. 본 연구에서는 청년 니트족의 과거 진로지도 및 상담 등의 진로교육 경험이 진로성숙으로의 변화 관계를 살펴보고 개인 구직동기가 매개되어 그 기능을 발생하는지에 대한 효과성을 검증하고자 한다. 연구대상은 한국고용정보원에서 만 15세부터 29세 청년 거주 가구를 대상으로 조사한 한국고용패널조사의 청년패널(Youth Panel 2021) 데이터를 활용하여 청년층 12,173명 중 청년 니트족에 해당하는 청년 1,564명을 대상으로 설정하였다. 연구의 방법으로 먼저, 연구 참여자의 인구학적 특성을 파악하기 위해 빈도분석을 실시하였고 연구 변인의 수준을 파악하기 위해 기술통계 분석을 실시하였다. 둘째, 주요 변수 간의 상관관계를 알아보기 위하여 pearson 상관분석을 실시하였다. 셋째, 진로지도 경험이 진로발달에 미치는 영향에서 구직동기에 따른 매개효과를 검증하기 위해 hayes(2018)의 PROCESS macro Model 4를 실시하였다. 본 연구의 검증결과로 첫째, 청년 니트족 연구대상 일반적 특성, 진로교육경험에 따른 진로성숙도 차이에서는 최종학력(t=37.324, p<.001), 진로교육 경험(t=-4.808, p<.001)이 차이를 나타내었고, 구직동기는 연령대(t=-3.265, p<.01), 최종학력(t=46.006, p<.001), 진로교육 경험(t=-2.842, p<.01)이 차이를 나타내었다. 구직동기의 매개 효과를 검증하기 위해 3단계에 걸친 위계적 회귀분석을 실시결과에서는 진로교육 경험이 진로성숙 수준에 긍정적인 정(+)의 효과를 나타내며 구직동기를 매개로 그 효과가 증가 됨을 확인할 수 있었고, 유의한 간접효과를 나타내는지를 위한 PROCESS macro(hayes, 2018)를 활용하여 Bootstrapping을 실시결과에서도 간접효과가 유의한 것으로 확인되었다.
본 연구에서는 청년 니트족을 대상으로 과거 진로지도 및 상담 등의 진로교육 경험이 진로성숙에 긍정적인 영향을 미치며 개인의 자아존중감 및 구직효능감의 구직동기가 부분 매개하여 그 효과를 상승시킴을 확인하였다. 이를 통해 노동시장에서 소외되고 있는 청년 니트족 해결점에 대한 진로지도정책에 기여할 수 있는 기초자료를 제공하여 신속한 노동시장으로의 이행을 위하여 함양하여야 할 주요한 변인이 무엇인지를 제공했다는데 연구의 의의를 가진다.

As the youth unemployment rate in Korea rises, the proportion of youth NEET that has stopped seeking jobs is ranked third in OECD countries, raising social concerns. In this study, we examine the relationship between career education experiences such as career guidance and counseling among young neet to career maturity. It is intended to verify the effectiveness of whether individual job search motivation mediates and generates the function.
The study was set for 1,564 youth who are youth neet out of 12,173 young people using the Youth Panel 2021 data of the Korea Employment Panel Survey surveyed by the Korea Employment Information Service. As a method of the study, first, a frequency analysis was conducted to understand the demographic characteristics of the study participants, and a descriptive statistical analysis was conducted to understand the level of the research variables. Second, Pearson correlation analysis was conducted to find out the correlation between major variables. Third, Hayes (2018)'s PROCESS macro Model 4 was conducted to verify the mediating effect of job search motivation in the impact of career guidance experience on career development. As a result of the verification of this study, first, the final academic background (t=37.324, p<) in the difference in career maturity according to the general characteristics of youth neet research subjects and career education experience.001), career education experience (t=-4.808, p<.001) showed the difference. The motivation for finding a job is the age group (t=-3.265, p<).01), final education (t=46.006, p<.001), career education experience (t=-2.842, p<.01) This difference is shown.In order to verify the mediating effect of job search motivation, a three-step hierarchical regression analysis showed a positive (+) effect on the level of career maturity .It was confirmed that the effect increased through job search motivation, and it was also confirmed that the indirect effect was significant in the results of bootstrapping using the PROCESS macro (hayes, 2018) to see if it showed a significant indirect effect. In this study, past career education experiences such as career guidance and counseling have a positive effect on career maturity, and individual self-esteem and job search motivation partially mediate the effect. Through this, the study is meaningful in that it provided basic data to contribute to career guidance policies for young neet who are alienated from the labor market, providing what major variables should be cultivated for rapid transition to the labor market.
