占察法會와 占察行法의 재현과 실행의 제문제 (Problem of a historical research and Reproduction of Writing Methods in Jeomchal Buddhist Mass and Jeomchal practice)

초록

본 논문은 『점찰선악업보경(점찰경)』에 기초해서 과거는 진표율사를 중심으로, 현재는 실제 점찰법회를 진행하고 있는 A사찰을 중심으로 점찰법회와 점찰행법에 관한 근거나 실행사례를 연구하였다.
『점찰경』은 상권과 하권으로 구성되어 있다. 하권의 내용은 수행정진 과정에서 깊은 연구가 뒤따라야 하지만 상권은 매우 간결하고 쉬운 문장이며 실제 수행의 현장에서 필요한 내용들로 구성되어 있다. 공식 기록에 의하면 『점찰경』은 서기 593(개황13년)년 전후로 중국 수나라 대에 등장했다. 그럼에도 불구하고 그 내용은 현시대와 긴밀하게 통해 있는 어구가 많다. 점찰의 방법 가운데는 제1과 제2의 점찰행에서 수행자 개인의 숙세의 선업과 악업에 대한 결과를 내며 사정근(四正勤)의 수행법으로 견인하고 있다. 그러나 그러한 수행은 자료의 축적과 관리가 필수적으로 필요하다. 그 관리는 컴퓨터 온라인 시스템으로 관리되어야 효과가 나온다. 과거 이런 문제가 있었기에 제1과 제2의 점찰행은 경전의 중요한 내용임에도 불구하고 실행 기록이 남아 있지 않는다고 여겨진다. 그런데 지금 시대에 컴퓨터 네트워크와 온라인 시스템에서는 점찰행을 통한 결과자료들을 정확하게 관리하는 것이 가능하다. 경전에서는 언급되었지만 과거에는 불가능한 일이 지금은 가능하니 놀라운 일이다. 경전이 그만큼 첨단과학과 닿아 있다는 뜻이기도 하다. 『점찰경』은 또한 우리가 왜 칭명염불수행을 해야 하느냐에 대한 확실한 답도 준다. 불교의 전통적인 수행임에도 불구하고 대개의 경우 관행적인 것으로 따라가고 있는 것이 현실인데, 『점찰경』에서는 확실한 이유와 방법 등을 상세하게 밝혔다.
『점찰경』은 이렇게 훌륭한 경전임에도 불구하고 널리 유포되지 못하고 있으며, 그 원인으로는 ‘占’이라는 경의 명칭과 무관하지 않다. 占은 자세히 들여다보고 觀은 생각한다는 뜻인데, 사람들은 단순히 점치는 것으로 오해했기 때문이리라. 『점찰경』이 유포되지 못하면서 사정근의 수행법으로 수행자를 견인해야 할 점찰행법도 명맥이 거의 끊어졌다. 그러나 다행히 지금 한국불교에서 20년 이상 점찰법회의 명맥을 유지하고 있는 한 사찰의 자료를 분석해서, 점찰간자의 제작 방법 등을 자세히 발표하겠다. 이 연구를 계기로 『점찰경』에 대한 관심이 증장되고 점찰법회, 진표율사의 수행정진이 되살아나기를 앙망한다.

영어초록

Based on Jeomchalseonageopbo sutra(占察善惡業報經, Jeomchal sutra, 占察經), this paper studied the cases of root or practice on Jeomchal Buddhist Mass and Jeomchal practice, focusing on the past on Jinpyo and the present Buddhist Temple of Youngsunsa.(In the text, A temple. A temple exists, but it was handled anonymously. A temple is actually working on Jeomchal Buddhist Mass.) The Jeomchal sutra consists of the upper and lower roll. The content of the lower roll should be followed by a deep study in the process of execution. But the upper roll is a very concise and easy sentence. The Jeomchal sutra consists of what is needed in the field of Buddhist actual performance. The Jeomchal sutra appeared in the Sui Dynasty of China around 593 A.D. by according to official records. Nevertheless, there are a lot of a word phrase that are closely related to the present.
There are many kinds of Jeomchal practice. Among the methods of a variety Jeomchal practice are first and second Jeomchal practice. It results in the advance and good or bad work of the individual Jeomchal practice master. It is being towed by Sajeonggeun(四正勤)'s performance method. Sajeonggeun throws away bad things and makes us have good things. Sajeonggeun is Stop the evil that you have already done, Don't let out evil that you haven't built yet, Extend the goodness you have already built, Let out the good that hasn't come out yet. However, such performance is essential to the accumulation and management of data. The management works only when it is managed by a computer online system. As there have been such problems in the past, first and second Jeomchal practice. have no record of execution, even though they are important contents of scriptures. However, it is now possible to accurately manage the results through Jeomchal practice in computer networks and online systems. It is surprising that something that was mentioned in the Jeomchal sutra but impossible in the past is now possible. This means that Jeomchal sutra are in touch with such high-tech science. Jeomchal sutra also gives us a definite answer to why we should do a loud prayer to Bodhisattva. Despite the traditional practice of Buddhism, the practice is usually followed by practice.
Jeomchal sutra gave details of the reasons and methods. Even though Jeomchal sutra is such an excellent sutra, it has not been widely circulated. It may be because of the name of the sutra “jeom(占)” because it is not widely accepted. The word jeom(占) originally meant to look closely and think, but people misunderstood it as merely a prediction. This misunderstanding has kept people away from Jeomchal sutra. The failure of Jeomchal sutra to circulate nearly severed the Jeomchal practice to tow the attendant by Sajeonggeun(四正勤)'s performance method. Fortunately, however, the A Buddhist temple has maintained its existence for more than 20 years in Seoul Korea. Analyze A Buddhist temple's data and tell them how to make Jeomchalganja(占察簡子) in detail. Jeomchalganja is an essential tool for Jeomchal practice.) I hope this study will increase interest in Jeomchal sutra and revive Jeomchal Buddhist Mass and Jinpyo's performance.
