초록

Specific things which are on the altars or in the places for sacrificial rites on the Altai petroglyphs are moose, bulls, and pictures about myths. These symbols are regularly found on altars or sacrificial rites on the petroglyphs by the Chuya riverside.
The moose which are depicted on the altars are pictures that have the same kind of patterns repeated.
1. depicting female figures on the top portion of the altar and male figures on the bottom portion.
2. facing east pictures on the southern facing standing stone.
3. depicting eyes on one of the two moose.
4. depicting each two figures differently tilted in an angle.
5. depicting hunters around the moose.
Moreover, there are more features of the moose depicted on the altars. Certain structural patterns of the moose were found. It reflects the petroglyphs creators' own ritual world.
These kinds of petroglyphs are found in various areas in keeping with those patterns.
In the case of bulls with loads, horns of bulls are special features because they look like the full moon. It indicates that the horns of bulls have received holiness since horns are similar to the moon, which is the symbol of worship.
Bulls that are regarded in the same way as the moon should die to be reborn as full moon changes into the crescent, according to the cycle in space. Therefore, bulls with loads are considered as sacrifices. The bulls are depicted with the front view of Xiamen.
The other petroglyphs which are depicted on the altar are the pictures about myths. But they can not be understood without having knowledge of folk materials about Altai. However, according to the petroglyphs, it is obvious that the petroglyphs are about a single story. At the same time it indicates that the petroglyphs are an important part of the places for sacrificial rites.
Petroglyphs about moose and myths are facing the south, but those about bulls with loads are facing the north west or north east. It seems to show that moose representing the sun are facing the south, bulls connected with the moon - which is yin - are facing the north. These kinds of petroglyphs are described as being up to 50~100cm much bigger than normal petroglyphs that are 10~20cm. Petroglyphs about moose or bulls as sacrifices consist of the altars or places for sacrificial rites which are the heart of the ritual. That these are shown as the same emblems in each area hasn't been investigated in any other historic sites of Siberia.
