초록

Cultural heritages and museums carry out social ethos commonly corresponding to the demand of the times.
Traditional buildings in the past are themselves for containing architectural spaces, while museums are for storage worthy of containing the cultural heritages. However, the traditional constructions make it possible to remember the past images, and the ethical function to shape the identity of the community as well. This thesis thus handles a storage method to conserve the wooden elements of the traditional constructions as a medium of heterogeneous materials and substance. Also, standing out material characteristics in this paper is employed as a way to show their authenticity. The wooden elements as a part among cultural heritages through the interpretation of the 'Representation' and the 'Re-presentation' show the 'Zeitlichkeit' as much as the 'historical value' as relics of the old times through their displays. With this background knowledge, through the "Storage of the Wooden Elements for the Traditional Buildings at Korea National University of Cultural Heritage," this research hence grasps the situation of wooden elements, and then suggests a 'museum storage system' organized as the open storage through the medium's materials appropriate to the wooden elements on each building.
