江陵 船橋莊 장서의 서지학적 고찰 (A Bibliographical Study of Books Housed at Seongyojang in Gangreung)

초록

장서각에서 수집한 강릉 선교장의 장서를 서지학적으로 분석한 결과 經部 60종220점, 史部 124종738점, 子部 135종736점, 集部 204종865점, 성책고문서 42종42점으로 총 565종2601점이 확인되었다. 주제별 분석결과 경부는 易類와 四書類, 小學類, 사부는 政法類와 地理類, 자부는 術數類와 類書類 및 醫家類, 藝術類, 집부는 別集類와 總集類, 小說類의 비중이 컸다.
판종별 분석결과는 木板本 > 筆寫本 > 金屬活字本 > 石印本 > 拓印本 > 木活字本 > 謄寫本 > 新式印刷本 > 鈐印本 · 複寫本의 순으로 비중이 컸다. 시기별 분석에서는 15세기 1종3점, 16세기 5종36점, 17세기 13종102점, 18세기 21종185점, 19세기 83종557점, 20세기 90종231점으로 모두 200종1114점의 간행시기를 판별하였으며, 연대가 불분명한 그 외의 자료들은 조선후기 혹은 중국 청대에 형성된 자료들로 생각된다.
장서인 및 장서기를 통해 장서의 형성과정을 추적한 결과 선교장의 장서는 강릉, 전주, 서울 등 여러 지역을 통해 구축되었음을 확인할 수 있었다. 그 중에서도 서울과의 교류가 막대한 영향을 끼쳤는데, 선교장은 19세기에 관직을 통해 서울에 진출하여 당대의 벌열 및 유명 장서가들과 교류하고 막강한 자금력을 바탕으로 대규모의 장서를 구축하였다. 거질의 중국본과 예술류, 유서류, 소설류 등에 대한 선호에서 볼 수 있듯 장서의 구성에 있어서도 당시 경화사족의 영향이 확인된다.

영어초록

This study analyzed bibliographically the books housed at Seongyojang in Gangreung and collected by Jangseogak and found that there were total 2601 books under 565 categories including 220 under 60 Gyeongbu categories, 738 under 124 Sabu categories, 736 under 135 Jabu categories, 865 under 204 Jipbu categories, and 42 under 42 old Seongchaek document categories. The analysis results by the topic show that almanacs, history, and Small Learning books recorded a high percentage in the Gyeongbu categories, that politics & laws and geography books did in the Sabu categories, that tactics, Yuseo, medicine, and art books did in the Jabu categories, and that individual collections of works, collective collections of works and novels did in the Jipbu categories.
The analysis results by the printing type show that the wood block types were the most, being followed by manuscript, Gimsok printed, Seokin, Cheokin, Mok printed, transcription, new-style printed, and sealed · copied types in the order. The analysis results by the period reveal that there were total 1114 materials under 200 categories including three under one category from the 15th century, 36 under five categories from the 16th century, 102 under 13 categories from the 17th century, 185 under 21 categories from the 18th century, 557 under 83 categories from the 19th century, and 231 under 90 categories from the 20th century. The materials whose periods were not certain seem to have been created in the latter part of Joseon or during Qing Dynasty.
The investigator traced the creation processes of the books through Jangseoin and Jangseogi and found that the books housed at Seongyojang were established in various regions including Gangreung, Jeonju and Seoul. Seongyojang entered Seoul through public service in the 19th century, had exchanges with distinguished families and well-known book collectors those days, and established a huge collection of books based on its massive funds. It was under the influence of Gyeonghwasajok for the composition of its books including the large sets of Chinese books and its taste for art, Yuseo and novel books.
