초록

The main purpose of this study was to identify diverse factors affecting the points of conflicts among Indonesian workers living in Korea. It also aimed to examine their ways of responses to the Korean culture through an in-depth field study and the limitations they experienced as a minority in the Korean society.
The discussions led to the three following conclusions ; first, the cultural conflicts of the Indonesian workers have significant meanings in their creating images about the Korean society and reflect that the cultural lag of the Korean society, in which the Korean remain in egocentrism with respect to their perceptions of other peoples. Secondly, the conflicts they experienced living in the Korean society and their responses to them claim important significance in their everyday lives. And finally, they feel the cultural differences and make use of their ways of responses in the Korean society in their current position as a minority. There is a possibility that they can overcome the limitations or the problems if they establish their cultural identity through their ways of responses.
