김종삼 시에 나타난 메시지와 청취자(聽取者) 주체 (“Message” and “Listener-subject” that Appeared in Kim Jong-sam’s Poetries)

초록

이 논문에서는 김종삼 시에서 주체가 자주 수행하는 ‘청취(聽取)’에 주목하였다. “내용 없는 아름다움”이라는 표현으로 집약되는 그의 형식미학에는 청취라는 수행 성, 나아가 청취를 통한 수행성이 동반된다. 이는 그간의 논의에서 충분히 짚어지지 않은 주체의 능동성을 확인케 하는 부분이다. 평화를 지향하고 타자를 향한 돌봄이 나타나는 시편들에 이르기까지 김종삼 시에 나타난 일관된 청취자로서의 주체의 면 모는 깊이 있게 파악될 필요가 있다.
김종삼 시에서 청각성은 삶의 방향성을 제공하는 계시적 메시지와 연관된다. 장- 뤽 낭시를 참조하면, 메시지는 청취자를 요청하고, 청취자는 메시지를 듣기 위해 준 비된 자이다. 낭시적 의미에서 김종삼 시의 주체는 과거로부터 현재와 미래로 이어지는 시간성 속에서 자신을 발견하고, 역사 현실에서의 희생자들을 현재의 위치에서 ‘청취’해 애도한다. 또한 계시적 메시지가 부재하는 것처럼 보이는 궁핍한 현실에서, 시적 주체는 타자를 위한 낮은 자세의 돌봄을 촉구하는 수행적 메시지를 도출한다. 주체에 의해 도출된 수행적 메시지에는 계시적 메시지 부재의 문제가 선결(先決)되 어 있다.
기존의 관점에서는 김종삼의 형식미학을 다룸에 있어 지시대상의 부재가 초점화 되면서 잔존하는 형식의 효과적 측면에 주목하는 경향이 있었다. 이 논문에서는 김종 삼의 시가 ‘들음’ 곧 청취해온 메시지들과의 연결을 가능케 하는 통로이자 형식이 됨을 고찰하였다. 나아가 김종삼 시에서의 메시지는 역사적 상흔을 지속적으로 소환해 애도하고, 타자와 외존(exposition)하여 함께 있음을 수행케 하는 재귀적 선언으로 전 환된다

영어초록

This paper pays attention to the ‘listening’ frequently performed by the subject in Kim Jong-sam’s poem. His formal aesthetics, which is concentrated in the expression “beauty without content,” is accompanied by the performance of listening and even performance through listening. This is a part that confirms the activity of the subject that has not been sufficiently pointed out in the discussion so far. It is necessary to understand in depth the aspect of the subject as a consistent listener in Kim Jong-sam’s poems, including psalms that aim for peace and appear caring for others.
In Kim Jong-sam’s poem, audibility is related to a revelatory message that provides a di- rection of life. Referring to Jean-Luc Nancy’s view of discussing in a Christian lullaby but emphasizing the interpretive aspect of the message rather than the verticality of the message, the message requests the listener, and the listener is the one prepared to listen to the message. In a romantic sense, the subject of Kim Jong-sam’s poem discovers himself in the temporal nature that extends from the past to the present and the future, and mourns by “listening” the victims in historical reality in their present positions. In addition, in a needy reality where the revelatory message appears to be absent, the poetic subject derives a performative message urging low-position care for the other. In the performance message derived by the subject, the problem of the absence of a temporal message is preceded.
From the existing point of view, in dealing with Kim Jong-sam’s formal aesthetics, there was a tendency to pay attention to the effective aspect of the form that remained as the ab- sence of the subject of instruction became focused. In this paper, it was considered that Kim Jong-sam’s poem becomes a path and form that enables him to connect with the messages he has listened to. Furthermore, the message in Kim Jong-sam’s poem is converted into a recursive declaration that continuously summons historical scars to mourn, and to perform the act of being with the other person.
