임산부의 피부관리 실태 및 만족도에 관한 연구 (A Study on the State of Skincare and Satisfaction Level in Pregnant Women)

Modern society is characterized by the advance in mass media such as TV or the Internet and a social climate that values appearance as much as individual ability. And modern people has a growing tendency to judge others by appearance. Due to such a social atmosphere, there is a mounting perception among women that their lifelong health and social activity depend on the level of skincare after pregnancy and delivery, which give rise to the biggest physical and mental changes in their life cycle, and many women are concerned about their skincare during pregnancy and after delivery. In fact, however, it's quite expensive to use skincare services during pregnancy, and there aren't yet any specialized, authorized skincare programs for pregnant women. The purpose of this study was to examine the state of skincare among pregnant women and their satisfaction level in an effort to provide information on the effective utilization of skincare services among pregnant women.
The subjects in this study were 387 pregnant women from across the nation, who were in their 20s and up. After a survey was conducted to gather data, SPSS(statistical package for the social science) WIN 21.0 was employed to analyze the collected data.
The major findings of the study were as follows: First, concerning the state of the use of skincare services, the most common places that they started to receive skincare services were skincare clinics, and the greatest group started to use skincare services for pregnant women in mid-pregnancy. The face was the most dominant area of the body on which they received skincare service, and the most common type of skincare service that they used other than facial was edema management.
Second, they gave a mean of 3.70 to skincare programs out of possible five points. As for the type of skincare most necessary for pregnancy, gestational pigmentation and acne care were most widely pointed out. Concerning skincare after delivery, post-natal pelvis management was considered most necessary.
Third, as to awareness of the effects of skincare for pregnancy, the biggest group answered that skincare services they received during pregnancy and after delivery were useful. Regarding what to do to accelerate the use of skincare services among pregnant women, the development of a wide variety of skincare programs geared toward these women was stressed.
As there is a growing concern for pregnant women's skincare, authorized programs for these women only should be prepared to bolster the professionalism of the skincare market for these women and to expedite its development, and the systematic management of professional estheticians who have finished every course is required.
