한․중․일 역사 교과서의 古代戰爭기술 검토 (Examination of Description of Ancient Wars in East Asian (Korean, Chinese, Japanese) History Textbooks)

초록

한국 고대에서 주변국과의 전쟁, 특히 전쟁 전후로 하여 한국사 및 동아시아 역사에서 의의가 큰 전쟁이 한국을 비롯하여 중국과 일본의 역사교과서에 어떻게 기술되어 있는지를 비교 검토하였다.
古朝鮮과 漢의 전쟁에 대해서는 한국의 교과서 이외에 중국이나 일본 역사교과서에서 이를 직접적으로 기술하지는 않았다. 중국의 역사교과서에는 고조선이란 기술은 없지만, 멸망 전후의 고조선의 상황을 바탕으로 한 내용이 있다.
한국의 역사교과서에서 고구려와 隋․唐 전쟁은 신라에 의한 삼국통일의 전단계로서 중요하게 다루어지고 있다. 중국 교과서에는 고구려와 수․당 전쟁 중 수나라 멸망의 원인으로서 고구려 전쟁을 기술하고 있다. 삼국 통일전쟁에 대해서는 대부분의 교과서가 당과 신라의 문화교류, 특히 당의 영향 등에 대한 내용을 게재하고 있다. 일본 중학교 역사교과서는 고구려와 수․당 간의 전쟁보다는 자신들과 밀접한 관계에 있던 백제의 멸망에 대해서 기술하고 있는 것이 특징이다.
한국의 동아시아사 교과서가 신라, 당, 일본이 모두 관여된 8세기의 국제전쟁적 성격을 지닌 전쟁으로 白江口 전투를 기술한 것은 의미가 있다. 일본 중학교와 고등학교 역사교과서는 모두 백제의 멸망과 백제 부흥을 위해 일본이 지원군을 보냈던 백촌강의 전투에 대해서 기술하고 있다. 백촌강의 패전 이후, 일본의 대응에도 초점을 맞추고, 백제 귀족 등의 도움을 받아 對馬에서 大和에 걸쳐 고대 朝鮮式 山城을 축조하고, 국내적으로도 제도의 정비가 이루어졌다 하고 있다.
8세기 전반인 732년, 발해와 당간의 전쟁은 여기에 신라가 참여하는 등, 국제적 성격의 전쟁이었다. 이 전쟁의 발발과 전개를 통하여, 발해가 극성기를 맞은 당의 통치질서에 정면으로 도전하고, 이것이 다시 당 본토 공격으로 이어지는 등 8세기 전반 동아시아 국제관계에서 중요한 사건이었다. 한국과 일본의 교과서와 달리 중국 역사교과서에 직접적인 기술이 없는 것은 발해를 당의 지방정권으로 간주하는 중국 학계 입장에서 비롯된 것이라 생각된다.

영어초록

There are some examples of warfare with neighboring countries in ancient Korea, especially examples of events that have influenced Korean history and East Asian history before and after the war: the War between Gojoseon and Han Dynasty, the War between Goguryeo and Sui-Tang Dynasties in the 7th century, the Battle of Baekgang-gu between Baekje refugees with Japanese reinforcements and the allied forces of Silla and Tang, and the War between Balhae and Tang with Silla in 732 during the South States Period.
The wars with neighboring countries, especially those of significance, pre- and post-war, in Korean and East Asian history, are compared as how they were described in history textbooks of Korea, China, and Japan.
Regarding the war between Gojoseon and Han, aside from the East Asian history textbook of Korea, direct description is not made in the history textbooks of China or Japan. In Chinese history textbooks, the expression Gojoseon is not found, but there are some contents based on the situation of Gojoseon before and after the fall.
The Goguryeo and Sui․Tang war is treated importantly as a preliminary stage of the unification of the Three Kingdoms (Korea) by Silla. The Chinese textbooks describe the Goguryeo war as the cause of the fall of Sui during the Goguryeo and Sui․Tang war. About the Unification War of the Three Kingdoms, Most of the textbooks print about cultural exchanges between Tang and Silla, especially the influence of the Tang. Japanese middle-school history textbooks are characterized by describing the fall of Baekje, which was closely related to them.
It is of significance that East Asian history textbooks of Korea describe the battle of Baekgang-gu in the 8th-century war having international character in which Silla, Tang, and Japan were all involved. Japanese history textbooks describe the battle of the Baekchon River(= Baekgang-gu), where Japan sent reinforcement in the fall of Baekje and for the restoration of Baekje. Also, Japanese history textbooks focus on Japan's response after the defeat of the Battle of the Baekchon-gang river: Japan, with the help of the Baekje nobility, has made the old Joseon-style mountain fortresses from Tsushima to Yamato and the maintenance of the system was done in Japan as well.
The war between Balhae and Tang in year 732 was also a war of international character, for instance in that Silla participated, and it is described in textbooks of Korea and Japan.
It was an important event in East Asian international relations, in that Balhae challenged the ruling order of the Tang Dynasty in its heyday and this led to the mainland attack of Tang, through the outbreak and development of this war Unlike textbooks in Korea and Japan, the absence of direct expressions of the war in Chinese history textbooks is believed to have originated in the Chinese academic community, which regards Balhae as a local regime of the Tang Dynasty.
